It is COLD! We are hoping that it warms up by tee-time @ 1:30. I don't think eating outside at the Beach Club is going to work.

I hope all is well with Peps and his Pups. I keep looking here and on FB to see if any pictures of the Musketeers have been posted.

Yesterday was mostly an in-house day due to the cold, windy conditions though we did meet with our local friends for dinner. DS was gone for the day visiting his friends.

We shall see if we get our usual 3 mile Justice walk this morning - we only went around the block yesterday. Have a sunny Sunday!

An inch of rain so far and "wintry mix" at 37 degrees. I know it's mean-spirited, but I'm glad to see the hikers driven away on a holiday weekend. Yesterday the roads were so crowded with hikers just ambling in the road not caring that they were in danger of getting hit by cars. Jerks! It's so cold in here with the giant windows, we have the blinds closed. It makes a big difference.

This morning was pancakes and bacon. For dinner I'm making chicken soup. My dad is impatient and cranked up the induction stove thinking it wasn't hot enough and burned the pancakes. Induction gets hot! But the bacon was fantastic.

I'm working on finishing a crocheted blanket as I bought a new afghan kit that is gorgeous, but I am forcing myself not to open it and finish the old project before starting a new one. Look at that personal growth!

Take care all and enjoy your weekends! Peps, tell us about the pups. Hope all is well.

Sorry to be in absentia!

All is well in my world - except the damn rain, rain, rain! There were some major hours of downpours here yesterday and the creek came dangerously close to spilling over into the lower yard. I have the creek fenced off from the dogs for safety reasons. It is very rare for the creek to rise up over the fence line. Luckily, it seems the dead branches that were likely to fall, have all come down. We lost none yesterday. The gardener popped in during a dry spell yesterday and cleaned up the yard, even moving all the downed branches into a pile by the fence. That was above and beyond in my opinion. He's a great young man and a very hard worker.

Lulu is feeling very loving this morning. She's even giving me "the lip". It's the equivalent to a dog smile. Puppies are doing very well. Tails and dewclaws were on the schedule yesterday and all faired beautifully. They are the chunkiest little pups I have ever had. Their daddy's litter were chunkers, too, so it stands to reason. Most pups at 4 days old are just coming up or breaking a pound. These guys are all pushing a pound and a half! I will post a few pics on TT later today. The boys are happily sucking down a late morning meal as I type.

Ron is FINALLY scheduled for hernia surgery. January 24. I really wish he had been on top of things and gotten it done prior to Christmas, but I was not in charge.... LOL Sometimes I wish he'd let me manage these things for him, but I understand the boundaries. He swears and promises that he will follow doctor's instructions this time. I'm not holding my breath. Once the pain of surgery is real, he may change his tune. He basically laid himself on the sofa for two and a half weeks after his last hernia surgery and no encouragement on my part could get him to move.

I don't know why, but I am so excited that tomorrow is another day off. I enjoy my practicing for retirement days. I'm probably also enjoying the days off to catch up on rest after a full 30 hour puppy watch. I only slept about 4 hours between 7 am Tuesday and 1 am on Thursday morning.

Off to celebrate the January b'days on Ron's side of the family this afternoon. I will go for a short while, but am not yet comfortable leaving a new mama alone for an extended period of time.

Ah.... the rain has stopped! time to get the dogs out for some outdoor romping. Though the 7 month old pups are unfazed by the rain and understand they are dogs who hail from the English/Scottish border! Rainy days are like any other. The French bulldog.... She'd rather pee inside than get her feet wet. We have to shove her out the door and close it behind her.

Greetings all

OMG there is sun! And blue skies to the east. I am almost scared to look west as there could be clouds coming. But we will enjoy the break. Peps hope you are getting a rain pause too.

Today's plan is to get my hair washed and then go shopping for chicken thighs which are now the favored food of the old dog. I spend so much time fixing food for him and getting his meds in 4 times per day crushed and with an eye dropper. Dog servant and nurse - thats me.

Seems like everyone in the neighborhood is taking advantage of the sun and is outside doing something noisy.

The football game was good and so was my chili. More for tonight. Don't know why I thought that game was at SoFi. It was in San Fran and raining.

CC tell me more about the induction stove! Do you like it? Did you have to get new pans? I have an induction panel on one side of my stove but don't use it. I want a new stove and would really prefer gas but that may not be a good idea. Induction sounds like the wave of the future but I hate the thought of getting rid of my copper bottom pans. Glad your dad was able to get some relief and is happily burning pancakes.

Peps those puppies are so adorable. Nice to have some chubby little good eaters and a happy mommy. Every day will be more fun. And glad Ron is getting the surgery though you will be nurse to him as well as puppies all at once.

Not much to say on weight and eating which is my way of ostriching. I really need to plan meals more and shop weekly but I so hate making that huge weekly grocery haul. I am more of a grocery grazer these days and it's not good. But at least there is chili for tonight and it's healthy, or would be if I didn't put crackers in it.

Liz hope it warms up. Golf in the cold is no fun. I would skip it.

After watching 1893 we are now doing 1923, yet another prequel to Yellowstone. It has Helen Mirren.

Not much else. Even though I am not doing much outside these days it's nice that it's clear so I could. Diane S

Honestly, I really miss gas. This is a Wolf induction cooktop, so top of the line. I had to get rid of my favorite ceramic pans as the bottoms were wrong, had to give away my All-Clad wok because you can't use a wok on it. It's all black glass and the controls all require you to touch the glass and no matter how clean your hands are, it then looks like a greasy-fingered ipad screen. The pros are it can boil water in like a minute. It's insanely fast. Maybe I will grow to love it, but thus far I'm not super comfortable with it! You know how you can look at a flame and tell if it's right? I miss that.
