Yesterday was another really enjoyable day with DS! We had lunch at our clubhouse, did a tour around the area, had a drink at happy hour at the clubhouse then had dinner at a fun little restaurant downtown. We had forgotten how much we liked that place but DS found it on a list of good restaurants in the area and asked about it. He loved the place which is an eclectic somewhat Irish place with neat lighting, a huge list of craft beers, and a menu with different choices like several fondues. The musical entertainment was good as well.

I decided to sell my Florida car. I can get 1/3 of what I bought the car for almost 11 years ago! The used car prices are crazy. I just had the transmission repaired. The service man said it should last for several years but if/when it recurred would cost the kind of money one wouldn't spend on a car that old. Prior to this year, Mike and I had managed here with one car. So we are going to go with one car again at least for the rest of the season. It saves me from trying to figure out where to stow it while we rent the house out in March and April and I will save on the insurance. If we decide we want another car here next year we can either buy another newer one or ship one of our 2 cars on Cape Cod down (currently sitting in garages on trickle chargers).

Today is a somewhat lazy day as the high is going to be in the 50s today (it was 40 and windy when we got up). DS is visiting a friend today and tonight but will be back tomorrow to play golf with us in the afternoon. Which reminds me that I have to find some pants to play golf in! It is too cold to wear the skorts I usually use.

Time to drink more coffee. Have a satisfying Saturday!

Greetings all

The rain is back big time. And it's windy too. A good day to stay home and hope the power stays on. Football watching is the plan and I will make chili. Chip had kind of a restless night last night so DH was up with him a lot. Hope they both get some rest today. This rain is supposed to let up Thursday. Meanwhile photos of the ocean waves are spectacular but too dangerous to go observe. People have died out on the jetties watching the ocean. No thanks.

The game today is the 49ers at So Fi stadium in LA. Bad weather predicted there. That stadium has a roof but it open on some sides. Weird. I wonder if a game can be rained out by sideways rain.

So the chili today will be fairly healthy depending on what I have in the cupboard for tomato part. I might have one last jar of home canned.

Liz so glad your DS is having a good time and the visit is good. Yep get some golf pants.

We watched all of 1893, the prequel to Yellowstone. So much stereo typing it drives me nuts but the story is compelling. We also enjoy "Ghosts" which is a silly sit com. There is also a new season of Emily in Paris and Your Honor.

Not much else. Hoping to keep power on. peps you ok?

Late post! I got my hair done today and mailed my estimated taxes (booooo!). Temps are dropping here and it's raining. Rain and wintery mix through Tuesday I think.

My dad's ER doctor was great and called his doctors at Mayo to ask about how they wanted him treated. They said to try to manipulate the stent and see if it could be a piece of protein blocking the tube. Sure enough it started to flow. But they gave him antibiotics to start if he started to show signs of an infection. Sure enough, he had a fever last night and started them. He seemed much better today. Such a tiny tube and so prone to infection despite how careful they are about changing his bag etc.

Hope everyone is well!
