Peps
on 1/11/23 2:01 am

It's about 5 minutes to 2 am. I'm on puppy watch. Lulu is on the uterine monitor and resting. I'm guessing pups will start to come around first light (around 7 am here). After we are done monitoring and get the data sent in, I will take a nap.

Completed the online sub request and sent sub plans to the school secretary.... No way this old man is going to make it to work tomorrow.

I am up about 2 pounds, which is not okay. I will need to work on that over the next week or so.

Not much else. I'm tired and really want to sleep, but puppy watch is serious business!

Wonderful Wednesday to all!

Puppy watch must be exhausting but so important! Can't wait to hear the news and see pictures of the newest litter!

It was 49 when I took Justice out this morning. Ughhh... and it will be low 40's the next few mornings. Luckily Mike should be back and usually does the early morning walk. I say hopefully because his 5:30 pm flight from NY is already delayed because of the FAA grounding this morning.

Last night's pool party was a success. Lots of people and good food. Because I was the host I met even more people. Fun evening. Today I have training for a tennis tournament I am volunteering at next week, then Mike should be home hopefully by 11 pm? DS arrives mid-day tomorrow.

I am starting Topamax tonight to see if it will help me in weight loss. I have to take it at night as it may make me sleepy at least at first. Still PO's me that Medicare refuses to cover weight loss drugs.

I hope Peps gets some sleep today. Have a winsome Wednesday!

Hope puppy watch is going well Peps! Great reason to put in for a sub!!!

Liz, the Topamax gave me some crazy dreams at first. I started with 25mg dose. Increased to 50 mg. Was prescribed 75mg. I haven't gone to the 75 yet, because I felt good appetite suppression at 50mg, but now, not as much as before, so I may increase it next week. I've had minimal side effects, I do get the tingling in my feet once in awhile, but it passes quickly. If it was ongoing, it could be a deal breaker.

So, unexpected flex day! Ice storm here. That meeting with the new director, that I've scheduled FOUR times for my department, that I was dreading facilitating this morning has been cancelled yet again. Maybe it is not supposed to take place yet. The ice sounds formidable, they pulled the Minneapolis city busses this morning, something I can't ever really remember. Snow is easier to fight in some ways. Anyhow, we all post our assignments, maybe the kids do them, maybe they don't, but we can count it as a day we had school.

DH decided to walk to work. I always find that ironic, on the worst weather days he is always sure to arrive because we live close enough for him to walk. I've watched him begin down our street during blizzards. If the store is open and he's scheduled, he's there. He should be home soon.

Greetings all

I was getting ready to post earlier than snap, the power flickered and went out. Just as housekeeper arrived. She was able to clean with the help of a headlamp provided by DH and vacuum using the battery pack. Fortunately the power came back after two hours. I don't get it. It was not even that windy. Nothing compared to the rest of california. There is a little flooding but nowhere that impacts us.

Liz sounds like a successful pool party. You didn't have to cook food did you? Hope not. Temp here is also about 50.

DD ice storm! The worst. Yep snow can be driven in much more easily than ice. My SILs are driving from Des Moines to Minneapolis today. Sounds not good. I remember that ice is what used to take the power out, not snow. Anyway I hope you enjoy the unexpected day off and that the dreaded meeting continues to be postponed.

Peps any puppies yet? Hope they come quickly so you can get some rest. Is Lulu an easy whelper or what? Wishing you puppy breath soon.

Not much else. Chip is slower and slower to eat. Not a good sign. Diane S

Hope your SILs trip went okay. Roads are salted and passable here again. Weird weathet, I guess it started raining around midnight, then froze. One good thing, when temps are near freezing, the road chemicals work very well. DOT just needs time to get out there and treat the roads, so hopefully your SILs arrived after that happened.
