I can't believe I just lost my post (my fault - hit a link on the page by mistake).

It is just after 7 am and Justice and I are cuddling on the couch and drinking coffee (I am at least). Mike just left to fly north to spend 3 days with his grandchildren while his daughter travels. We decided I would stay here so the potential risk of winter weather wouldn't cause a miss with DS arriving the morning after Mike returns. I will keep busy though. I have a bocce meeting and a cookout tomorrow, I am running the pool party on Tuesday night and I have a meeting about the tennis invitational tournament on Wednesday. So no cooking required as I have leftovers for tonight. Sitting by the pool may be on the agenda at some point.

SIL was able to go home finally late yesterday afternoon with supplemental oxygen. My DS shopped for some supplies, then brought her home and got her settled. Though DS loves his aunt like another mother, I am a bit peeved that her son didn't come yesterday. He did go to the hospital last Sunday when my DS brought her in and panicked. He hasn't been down to see her since. His drive is about 80 minutes and he has a wife and young son, but with yesterday being the weekend I feel like he should have come to get his mother home and settled. He is a super bright guy and loves his mother but his social skills can be lacking. I would have thought his wife would encourage him to go.

Not much else going on. Time for a second cup of coffee, then a Justice walk. Have a super Sunday!

Good morning! It was a beautiful day yesterday and we got a lot done. I washed windows and cleaned major hard water stains off a window next to a fountain that was solid white. What a pain! I am going to spray it with RainEx today to see if it helps. Also sprayed down the wall and floor where the bat was hanging out. My dad's wife cleaned the bbq and the bbq vent filters. So full of gunk!

Not sure what's on tap for today... I did talk them into eggs instead of pancakes for Sunday breakfast. Feeling chubby.

Hope everyone is well and that our CA friends aren't washing away! It would be okay to send a little of it to AZ...

Apparently, we have had more rain here since Christmas day than we had from January 1, 2022 to December 25, 2022. From the National Weather Service: Downtown San Francisco received 10.33 inches of rain from Dec. 26 to Jan. 4, making it the wettest 10-day record for the area since January 1862

Locally here, we have had over 6 inches since Christmas.

I used to have to scrape one window at my Florida place because water from the sprinkler system kept blowing on it and stained it.

Liz, I hope you do get some pool time in between your other tasks! Good on your son for being a devoted nephew but I agree that her son should have seen to her too, plus, maybe a quick visit with the grandson could be uplifting after what she's been through.

CC, I can't get over all the deferred maintenance you are taking care of! The previous owners had this lovely house, but it seems they didn't take care of it as well as they could have. Wonderful that you have it now and are treating it right.

Peps, how is the mudslide situation? With all that rain, it's worrisome. Is your formally dry Creek bed still raging?

We had a wonderful time with the nieces and nephews yesterday, one great nephew, and 2 of the nieces expecting, babies due in May and August. Even my nephew's dog was there, a most charming Labrador.

This morning joined the college roomies and spouses for brunch. I really feel privileged to have this group of friends I've known since I was 18. When somebody knows so much about you, all the good and all the stupid things you've done in 40 years of living, and still loves you, that's a lovely thing.

Still trying to not think too much about work on Sundays. The Sunday scaries can eat up too much of the weekend if you let them.

Good Morning All - Tis Monday already - why do the weekends go fast in a blur?

I had a productive weekend at city house. Lots of cleaning and sorting - I gave away a lot of stuff that we didnt need. Im slowly starting to downsize. It feels good to be able to gift it to others especially as some of those are likely feeling the pinch economically. DH is up at the farm as its his last week off work. The contractor cleaning out our dam has finished and it looks amazing. DH will do more work on fencing over the next few days so we will be ready to do more planting once the weather cools down.

On an exciting note, we have sat down and planned our next trip. Its looking like 3 weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia in March. We will be submitting our annual leave this week and Im hoping my boss says yes. I dont want to go for under 3 weeks as its a days travel each way. We have planned lots of tours and getting out amongst the locals out of the main cities. Including a motorbike trip through the mountains. a 20 hour train trip (reunification railway), Howlong Bay of course, a farm/culture tour that you get to ride a water buffalo and make paper lanterns after you have spent time with local farmers. We are keen to see how they farm etc. We are also planning a trip with my sons to Cairns in August - there is a huge annual Tank festival and we have long spoken about going. Both my sons love that sort of thing as does DH - so it will be wonderful for them. They will likely go from Mon - Sun and I am hoping to fly up Wed night and stay till Sun. DS girfriend will also go with them so we can hang out while the boys are getting their Tank thing on :)

Not a lot else to report. I have some admin paperwork stuff to sort tonight and then hope to get out in the overgrown vegetable patch and continue weeding. It was DH baby but somehow I am left with it - UGGGGGGG

Love to you all and have a wonderful Sunday evening
