Good Morning! Thought I'd surprise Liz by posting early on a weekday :) We are having another snowday, but this is a "flexday" , meaning we post online lessons. So I got up at my regular time to make sure I had everything in order and accessible to my students online, and sent some emails so everyone could see I was working already at 6:30 am haha. But now I'm back under the covers for awhile with some tea, watching the news.
It isn't really snowing much yet, but if the forecast is even close, it is going to get crazy around here today. Rates of 1-2 inches an hour, of heavy wet snow. Tough stuff for plows to keep up with. My plans are simple, stay home!!! I'll work online, and do my things here at home when my workday is done.
Whatever weather you experience today, stay safe, warm and dry! Easier in some locations than others ;)
We are forecast to have a non rainy day, but it is cloudy, super damp and chilly. I am impressed by a school district with scheduled flex days. That's forward thinking. All we have is tack on days at the end of our calendar year for "smoke days" if we have to take them.
Funny thing..... I seem to have "forgotten" how to eat reasonably for weight loss. Sort of cracks me up.... I could easily go back to my deprivation mode of 1200-1500 calories. I know how to do that. But I'm going to have to do some real planning to get this weight loss kick started.
I really did have some mixed emotions about being turned down for coaching. Sort of fed into my feelings of never being good enough for whatever.... I just have to keep telling myself that no matter what the reason, at least the coach was honest with me when he told me he didn't think his coaching method would work for me. What was telling though is that he suggested I come back to him when I had less weight to lose. I'm like, yeah, no to that.
Oh, it was hard to get up for school today. I wish I had the option of a flex day today, too! LOL! I do kind of miss the perks of working from home!
Since today feels like a true teacher's new year for me, Happy New Year wishes all around....

I think that is so much more about him than about you! A good coach would see your current strength and motivation as enough to want to help you reach your goals. Maybe he likes quick transformations on his CV which only works if you are almost where you want to be. I say screw him!

Snowy morning! Funny, when you take a picture of it it looks like less snow than to your eye.
Today was chore day. Two loads of laundry, clean sheets, trip to Ace for water softener pellets and silicone spray for a sticky sliding door. Then changing the water filters on the whole house filter for the first time. Tricky, but it should be easier next time! Then I made a chart for the utility room wall to track when they get changed as it's not at the same time ( every 2 months/every 6).
I think we're walking soon. Brr!
Beautiful regardless!

Greetings all
I ate a corn dog. Not sorry. Also brought one home to DH. I played scrabble this morning and stopped at the grocery on the way home. I had to get some chicken thighs at the deli for old Chip and the corn dogs were in my face. It was not all that good.
But the good news is I came home to the sight and sound of a tree service in the green belt taking out the offending tree. I think was all tangled up on our redwood so they are back there with a huge cherry picker and several people. Yay.
So the Abbott and Costello movie continued this morning. Jerry had asked to come for help during this window of time - he never plans for enough time to get the job done and so he leaves and starts over. It was hilarious - at one point an automated system was asking Jerry to put in his provider number or some code number and he gets into an argument with the robotic voice! It says "that is not a valid id number" and he says "but you did not give me enough time to enter the number which is so rude". Eventually there was an attempt to print a 25 page document which jammed our printer resulting in DH cursing and Jerry telling him to calm down (the person yelling at the robot). Mission somewhat accomplished and we had a laugh but jeez.
DD a snow day! The predictions must be really bad for the closing to occur before the snow is on the ground. But bravo to whomever is paying attention to this stuff. You have earned a hot tea day.
Peps, what's with this so called coach? Who needs that guy. Sorry you are missing the palm springs dog show. I would like to go some time.
CC sounds like lots of home chores. You are wise to make the chart.
Well the sound of the chain saws is getting annoying but guess I have to put up with it. Might be time to go watch loud tv in bed.
Cheers. Diane S
Thank goodness there are no snow days here! Though it used to be so pretty to watch from my cozy sunroom with the fireplace running. It was the aftermath I am happy not to deal with.
SIL is doing okay - some signs better, some the opposite. Hopefully time will work on her side. I can't help but feel especially nervous because deceased DH, her brother, died 3 years ago today. A little feeling of uncomfortableness around the timing. After MIL died it was deceased DH, then SIL who kept the family coming together. I don't think anyone else will take on that role after SIL. I am realizing how many people love her and rely on her quiet support.
In the meantime, Mike and I are in Fort Lauderdale for 2 days (one of his Christmas presents from me). Here are our views:
Have a cozy Tuesday!
