I hesitated over the year but got it right the first time!

I just heard from SIL. She had a fairly good night and is improving but they are giving her a blood infusion today because she is very light-headed. All her blood counts have been down because of the chemo which also made her more susceptible to flu, etc. Just a nerve-wracking time at this point. She has done so, so well with the treatments and remained strong but she is almost 4 years post-diagnosis so we all worry. DS already tried to visit but hadn't checked the visitation hours so was turned away though he did leave things for her. He is going back this afternoon and will report back.

We already did our usual walk and have a tee-time this afternoon. We shall see how it goes. I wonder if I will eventually get to a point that I look forward to it LOL? Just enjoying the warmth other than that.

Have a restful Monday holiday!

Chemo, poison you to save you. Hopefully one day there is a less barbaric treatment for cancer, but brutal as it is, it does save or prolong lives. Good thoughts for SIL.

The rains of the west coast are headed here, still too early to tell exactly where the biggest snow total will be, but somewhere in the area is probably getting a foot of snow tomorrow. Sounds like it will be a bit south of us. We'll get some, but hopefully not that much.

Tomorrow I must return to my classroom. Makes today a bit melancholy. DH asked me what I wanted to do today, and I think I just want to stay in. We've had a lot of fun, gone a lot of places. There are things that need my attention here. I feel like I need to do some laundry, get a few other things in order to prepare for the work week.

Time to start thinking about my still compromised lungs. This week, I commit to doing my tai chi routine. It is not aerobic, but it is something that once I start, I look forward to, so it will be my gateway to starting an exercise routine. It does involve deep breathing, so that's a plus.

I am using the personal days I have ( we get 3 a year) for a Florida getaway in February. Something to look forward to and help get me through January :)

We got snow last night and this morning. Pretty! Now mostly melted. Dare I say I see sun?!

Took the trash out (ours come on holidays). I watched the parade and got all the ornaments off the tree and packed. Now enjoying a Diet Coke watching USC vs. Tulane while I gear up to get the tree down and into its bags and the other bits and bobs of Christmas decorations down. Not much else planned today!

Hope everyone has a good one!

Our tree is up until "Little Christmas ", not necessarily on principle but because of a busy week LOL.

I tried to negotiate for Epiphany, but the consensus was it should come down yesterday or today... Then the first comment was "wow the room looks bare without the tree!" It was a ginormous tree...

I was a undecorate on New Year's Day guy, but Ron finally put his foot down and now we keep Christmas going until Epiphany. Still not my cup of tea, but....

I "tasked" DH and DS to take down the tree while I did other things. Its my least favourite thing to do. I love seeing them up and decorated but dont enjoy the pack up. I think most people are the same

Good Morning All and Happy New Year.....

Im back at work this morning and dragged my butt in kicking and screaming. I have a ton of stuff to ger through but the teams are out at their allocated jobs so I have peace and quiet to play catchup at least

We got home from the farm around 5pm yesterday and worked non stop to tidy up the city house, pack down the christmas decorations and put away Christmas gifts. I also cleaned out some drawers and am gifting 2 huge bags of clothes to a lady today. It felt good. DH and DSS have started the preparation for the back path to be concreted. DH picked up an excavator first thing this morning. Im looking forward to seeing the progress when I get home tonight.

Not a lot else to report. Hard to believe my break is over but I need to get my head back into work zone and keep swimming as Dory would say.

Hope you all have a wonderful evening

Liz - sending much strength to your SIL xx

I could get rid of so many clothes, but I'm in denial about fitting into them again! Good for you!
