Another late nighter!

The doomsdayers are quick to tell you when you get excited about rainfall that most of it runs off and it will take decades of deep soaking to recharge the ground water in the west...

I have heard that snowfall in the mountains is more important than rainfall because the snowpack is like a giant frozen reservoir that slowly melts and releases water. So the scientists want more snow. Ok by me as I am not in it! ds

The annual snow pack does more to fill the aquifers than does our sporadic heavy rain falls. However, because of the latest round of droughts there have actually been aquifers that have collapsed due to the lack of water. Those apparently are gone forever.

I felt like I had some stamina to lose weight especially since food hasn't been very interesting for the last 10 days.

But right now I feel like the wind is out of my sails. SIL was admitted to the hospital today with flu and pneumonia. DS took her and called me in panic after he got her there as she was barely alert and they promptly kicked him out of the room. Her oxygen was at 60! She was much improved when he saw her before leaving a couple of hours later. He had called her son and he was there with her. Just very scary with her precarious health especially after recent chemo.

I'm so sorry to hear that. How scary for all of you.

So sorry to hear that Liz. Your son is such a good nephew. A scary situation for everyone. Prayers she continues to improve.
