We are home!!! Justice was a wonderful traveler as he usually is. I almost wonder if he knew he was returning to where he felt more comfortable? Almost no shaking. And he slept very peacefully last night.
CC, I am excited about making that Mexican Chicken. I have been slicing the chicken breasts I grill horizontally for years ever since they became twice the size (I used to pound for some meals but they are too fat now unless sliced horizontally first). Remember when there used to be 4 breasts per pound??? So each was a perfect 1/4 pound serving? They are at least twice that size these days.
I definitely brought my sinus infection home but I did sleep a full night thank goodness. I think sleep and humid air will do wonders. I was miserable last night due to lack of sleep, residual effects of pain and blocking of my ears from the flight, and just general malaise. It has been a week since this started so I probably have another 3-7 days of this though it hopefully will be receding. Before I flew I looked up how to avoid or fix ear blockage. The suggestions were more or less what I knew: yawning, chewing gum, etc. But all the articles said to avoid flying if at all possible when suffering a sinus infection. That wasn't happening.
Mike's friends arrive sometime today. He just voiced what I was thinking. Wouldn't it be the cordial thing to give at last an estimate of their ETA so we can plan our day??? Oh well.
Have a fulfilling Friday!
ETA: The friends just texted that they will be here in 2 hours! We were assuming the afternoon! I would have thought we would have gotten more notice???

I do remember that! When one chicken breast nicely served one person. We got a big package of organic chicken from Costco (three individual packs attached). One of the three packs had 3 breasts and weighed 2.2 pounds!
Here is something to deter you from getting the most modern Roomba: https://www.technologyreview.com/2022/12/19/1065306/roomba-i robot-robot-vacuums-artificial-intelligence-training-data-pr ivacy/?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email
Still cold and rainy here. No plans for today, which is great. I had a really fun lunch with my new friend and her friend. We laughed a lot and had interesting discussions. Yummy new restaurant too.
There is still a lot of chocolate in the house that I love but do not need. Argh.
Anyway, good luck with the storms, Shirl! Liz, that is really rude to not tell people when you're arriving. What were you supposed to do, sit around all day on tenterhooks? What is a tenterhook exactly?
Hope everyone has a nice day!
Well that's just creepy!

Agree that guests should give heads up well in advance when they expect to arrive and depart. We're going to visit my Aunt in Amhurst , Ma in January. We already told them we will be leaving Boston to drive to their new house at approximately noon. This gives them at least a window of time when to expect us, because they know how long the drive takes. And we're not visiting for 3 more weeks.
I drove 60 miles one way to get my hair done by my niece this morning. It's quite a trip, but she does such a nice job. Tonight I'm taking my fresh hair to a wine bar called The Troubadour to meet some friends where we will eat some cheese, drink some wine, and listen to some live music. A pre NYE celebration.
I ate the other half of my cheeseburger from yesterday for lunch just now. Dedicated to protein, that's my story. It was a fancy one, with provolone cheese and bacon jam, went down pretty smoothly :) .
We don't have Siri or Alexa, but what does it matter. We have phones, and smart TVs. There is no privacy. It boggles the mind if you think too deeply about it. DS says there is some kind of program you can put on your computer that has it do random searches all night to mess up your algorithms... Don't know how effective that is.
