Back south to warmth today. Unfortunately I am bringing my sinus infection with me. If I had had more free time this week I probably should have contacted the doctor for antibiotics though steroid sprays usually work eventually.
We leave for the airport around 11:30, but first need to pack and wash sheets, etc. We are going to breakfast with eldest DD in about 1/2 hour.
I really wish we would have a break when home but Mike's friends come tomorrow. They leave Sunday, but then we are in Fort Lauderdale Tuesday-Thursday. I feel like I used to during semester breaks from school when I invariably got sick but there was too much to do so I had to ignore it.
Have a thriving Thursday!

I would be so unhappy with your schedule! I can't have that many activities and interactions lined up one after the other without lots of time to recharge in between. It's good that you have so many friends and family though to spend time with!
I made Mexican chicken last night. So easy and yummy. Cut chicken breasts in half so they are thinner (why are chickens so mutantly large these days?), sprinkle with garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper and bake in a smallish dish at 400 for 13 min. Meanwhile mix 2/3 of a jar of salsa, a can of diced green chilies, a can of drained black beans, and a few handfuls of frozen corn. Pour over the chicken, sprinkle with Mexican shredded cheese and bake for another 15 minutes. Delish.
Today I have lunch with the friend of my friend and one of her friends. Nothing else planned. A little more rain today, but not an organized storm like yesterday.
Take care!
It is mostly this time of year when it gets crazy and I am my own worst enemy. The Fort Lauderdale trip probably should have been scheduled later in the month.
I am definitely making that chicken! Looks so good and easy!

Well Liz, no one can say you are one of those retirees that sits in front of the TV all day, that's for sure! There is nothing retiring about your retirement at all. If you feel you need antibiotics to kick this infection, does your clinic have virtual visits? Ours does, both scheduled, and urgent care. I've also used a service called Doctors on Demand when we were on vacation and I got pink eye. It's an app you download, it was very slick, you do a FaceTime visit with a doctor ,and I got my antibiotic salve with little trouble, all while using my phone. Or minute clinics at CVS?
CC, that chicken recipe does sound delicious. I have a hard time with chicken breast, but that would bro enough moisture and flavor (and the idea of cutting the breast thinner), so that I would enjoy it.
Saw the movie the Fablemans. It was good, but kind of all over the place, as I guess a movie about how you remember your childhood probably would be. Our memories aren't just a clean, organized narrative.
Today's plan, I think we will go out for lunch. BIL and SIL are coming over this evening to use our hot tub. That's about it.
I have said it before, but boy! I sure wouldn't want to manage Liz's packed schedule! I tend to over schedule myself anyhow, so just reading about Liz's scheduled activities is exhausting! LOL... not really, but you know what I mean....
Today my goal is to get an adequate amount of protein. Meal #1 - 2 eggs and 3 oz of chicken breast with avocado salsa and masa. YUM!
Got Lulu's maternity trim done yesterday. She looks cute.
Have already been out for a hair cut and Kathryn will be by about 1:15 for a Costco run. Luckily, I don't need anything. I just go to make sure I keep my friend on track... She has a "shopping disorder" and my mere presence curtails unnecessary spending. I'm happy to be of help, but it does make me realize how we all have our own individual dysfunctions, whatever they might be.
Not much else to report.
Greetings all
Another overcast day but minimal rain.
Yep Liz, your social schedule would kill me too! You are so gracious and family oriented. Good on you for melding all the family elements together. Enjoy these days.
Peps protein focus is indeed the way to go. Must admit I have failed in my quest to drink fair life protein but there is no deadline on starting I guess. A hamburger is indeed proper protein. Sounds good. I am having my usual tuna salad.
Last nights pot roast was great. Still more of it remaining. Old Chip got some along with his chicken dinner. he seems ok with the increased meds but is a bit more sluggish. But he is 16 years old. Over 100 in dog years.
CC that chicken sounds great. Never thought of slicing the chicken in half (horizontally i assume) but sounds like a good idea. I used to make scallopini by pounding it thin. But baking is better. Yummy.
DH is here with his computer challenged 83 friend arguing with the phone company. It's like Abbot and Costello. Nothing accomplished. Both became very cranky. I am increasingly concerned about this guy. Like his judgement is impaired and he gets in a major snit over small stuff. And he has already filed complaints with the FCC over a $43 phone charge. Like they care. It's like Southwest airlines. Hopeless. I am so glad I did not do any holiday travel.
I stopped in the studio today. Need to go to the clay store but it was raining. We are lucky to have a ceramic supply store here which is a quaint little place filled with fun items. Many rural artists have to have all the stuff shipped and it's expensive. At least I got some things done but clay things are drying very slowly in the humid winter weather.
Gallery duty tomorrow and I will finish the year with a record number of work shifts this month (4) but it's fine. On a cold rainy day I can turn the heat up and play iPad games.
Cheers all. diane s
