I have had a certain level of laryngitis for several days and a cough at night increasingly keeping me awake. Pressure in my face and voila! I suddenly know what this is from past experience. In the past I frequently suffered from sinus infections during the winter. It is the effect of the dry air on my sinuses. I started one in Arizona this past February from the overall dry air. Here it is caused by excessive heating without a humidifier. So time to go get a steroid spray. I kept testing for COVID but was negative. At least it is unlikely that I am contagious. The worst problem for me is the pressure in my sinuses right now while I am upright and my inability to sleep because of the drainage and coughing.
Today my only scheduled activity is to get my teeth cleaned. I guess that will be okay as I can breath through my nose fine when upright and definitely don't have covid. Originally we were driving 90 minutes tonight to see Mike's daughter but he cancelled that because he didn't want to make the drive (we saw her last week). DS was already planning to make lasagne for SIL and visiting DD so we will stay for that. Good thing as my approximately 3 hours sleep on top of about the same from the prior night is really dragging me down.
Time to go get medications. Have a turnkey Tuesday!

Happy Birthday CC! Enjoy celebrating with your family in your beautiful home!
BTW, you share your birthday with my brother (though he turns 64 this year). He always felt like his birthday was compromised by the proximity of Christmas. When he was young my other brother I felt like my Mother made a bigger deal over it to make sure he didn't feel that way, LOL. In the long run, the 2 celebrations did get combined.

Thank you, Liz! It's definitely a bummer, but not as much as it was for my grandfather who was born on Christmas day! We actually had 4 family members at one point with birthdays right around Christmas: the 19th, 24th, 25th and 27th.
My dad tried to give me my birthday card on Christmas Day and wished me a happy birthday. I refused it. It needs to be separate. My mom was good about it, even if my birthday presents were wrapped in Christmas paper...
Yes, you deserve a separate day for celebrating! I hope the tea was lovely, that's one of my favorite ways to mark a special occasion. As for the wrapping paper, my children may have received gifts wrapped in Christmas paper (although I would try real hard to pick the most "neutral", score if it was solid red) for an August birthday. My life with small children was definitely not a well oiled machine. :)
Liz, thank heavens you were able to cancel your trip today, you need to rest. Ugh, sounds painful. Let others take care of everything else, you take care of yourself. Good that DS was already lined up for dinner.
I slept in, and am reading and drinking tea. I said good bye to DS, he just left for his drive back to Madison. DD stays, she is in her office downstairs working from home. DH elected to continue with his part time schedule this week. He gets off at noon, so he said I wouldn't even miss him, and he thought the money would be helpful to refill the accounts after all the Christmas spending.
This afternoon we are going to a special art exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. It's works on loan from the Uffizi in Florence Italy. Some very special pieces that rarely leave Italy. We're very excited! We did go to the Uffizi in 2013 on our only trip (so far!) to Italy.
That's all the news from my comfy reading chair :)
Greetings all
Well I was about to get ready to leave the house and pick up payroll but it's absolutely pouring rain in buckets. I think I will wait. This heavy rain usually does not last but it it does, there will be flooding.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Chip had a seizure last night or at least thats what DH thinks. I slept through it. One of our other dogs alerted us to it. It was not as bad as previous butI checked with the vet and we are upping his medication. He seems back to normal today - at least what passes for normal around here.
CC hope you have a great day! Wolfpack! Sounds like a great tribe. Enjoy. And yeah a December birthday must be kind of a challenge. It has always seemed like a good idea just to pick another arbitrary birthday. Who would know? Hope you have some fun and that balloons are with you!
Liz you need a rest day or two. And some elderberry zinc lozenges. Don't push yourself. Too much yucky crud diseases going around.
DD you have the right idea. Tea and a blanket. My kind of cold day.
Oh crap, here comes thunder. Tesla will need some meds. We are running a dog hospital.
Well I'd better get going with payroll. I think I will get a pot roast. It's time for comfort food.

A very nice day so far! The tea was lovely and everyone was very nice. I got my birthday Starbucks and I think they accidentally used skim milk in my latte. First world problems, but not tasty like I was expecting. But I drank it and it was free!
We're headed out to dinner in a bit. The rain should move in tonight. I love rain...
Thank you all for the birthday wishes!!
Happy Birthday Cec Hope dinner is wonderful
