More balloons this morning! I hope it, and the scenery here, never gets old! My dad sure loves it. He was talking to a friend last night on the phone and said, "My little girl bought a palace!" He just stands at the window marveling and laughing about how pretty it is here. So sweet.
One thing I've noticed is his sharpness is showing some small dulling. Like he keeps turning the wrong way in the house, not remembering what door and side of the house goes out to the bbq (granted it was dark). Really very small things, but made me realize he is getting older.
Today I go get my hair done, but nothing else planned. I hope you all are staying warm if you're in cold places and enjoying the lead up to Christmas! Shirley hope your birthday was wonderful!
I love hearing how much you and your Dad love where you have moved

Just back from my PCP appointment - only one more left (teeth cleaning on Tuesday). The big discussion was about weight as everything else was within normal ranges. Though I gained less than I thought (about 8 pounds from last year), there is still an upward trend. I am now 40 pounds above my lowest weight and about 25 or so above where I would like to be. He prescribed Wegovy, but if it turns out to be too expensive, he will change the prescription to Topamax. We shall see how this goes.
I just gave Justice a bath as the general consensus was that he smelled rather doggy. I think I get used to it? He is now nicely bathed and cuddling in a dry towel in my lap.
Not much else to do prior to Christmas except cookie baking and present wrapping. I am taking Mike out to lunch to avoid too much nudginess.
ETA: The plumbing repairs were minor thank goodness. I have already contacted someone about repainting the main ceiling downstairs and he can do it after the holiday. It already had stains from the roofing fiasco this summer, so not a huge deal.
Have a phenomenal Friday!

CC it sounds like after all the challenges and searching you found the place where you were supposed to be. Welcome home.
Liz, so awesome your home only needs a little TLC. Whew. I hope your journey a little assist pharmaceuticals helps. Besides some weight gain everything else was good?
Looks like our Shirl did her birthday up right.
Slept in again, I'm congested, but I think its just a mild head cold. Compared to previous ailments, I can deal.
Time to continue with preparations for Christmas pageants. For reasons unknown, the Vikings are playing tomorrow at noon, so I want to have all details handled today/tonight so DH can relax tomorrow.
Happy Christmas Eve Eve.
When I used to get stressed about having company and needing help deceased DH invariably would choose that moment to go wash the car. But overall he was always great support.

LOL DD, my DH decided to purchase a carpet cleaner machine and then shampoo the carpet right before our Halloween party! I told him it had to get done by the am of the day before so carpet could dry. Years ago he decided to put a coat of varnish on the front porch the day before Halloween! it smelled bad and was sticky so we had to put cardboard on top of it. Sense of timing is lacking...
Greetings all
CC I so love that your Dad is so happy with your new home. Who knew there would be balloons or that he would enjoy them so much! But who would not like them?
Liz are you getting the storm? The news looks terrible in parts of the nation. It's calm here and DH went to lunch and then helped our friends put a birdbath upright that had dumped over in the earthquake. Something like 150 homes have been red tagged due to damage. So appreciate your homes everyone, especially CC who has the palace!
Liz glad the plumbing issue was not so bad. A very un fun expense.
Well I did my shopping and now it's time to wrap. Case of wine just gets a bow. I am going through the plastic tub of Christmas stuff and hope there is enough stuff so I don't have to make a trip to a store. EEEWWW
Studio buddy wants to come over tomorrow and watch football. Ok with me but she does not seem to realize it's christmas eve. not that we are doing anything.
Guess I had better get on with the wrapping since i don't want to go out after dark to CVS. Double EEEWW
Meatloaf tonight.
Cheers. Diane S
