A new record! I went to bed at 8 pm last night planning to get up at 3:30 am to leave for the airport at 4:15 am. It is 3:15 am now and I did not sleep at all. Mike will have to do the driving.
I dread the airport today as we are flying on Southwest and they require that I go through the ticketing line to pay for my pet. Delta which we return on does the same. JetBlue and Allegiant let you pay in advance. I think the reason is so they can view the carrier and size of pet but it really irks me.
My next post will be from the Northeast. Have a flying Friday!

Greetings all
Liz sorry you had such a rough night. Hope your travels go well and you are home and warm soon.
It's sunny but still cold here. I am feeling my age I think by feeling chilled a lot. Studio friend and I were sitting in my sunny studio yesterday *****ing about how we are cold so much lately. Neither of us used to be. I loved the coolness of our area especially in the summer. I am thinking of ordering a heating blanket throw. But don't tell DH - he will order 10 of them!
So I am enjoying this morning drinking coffee and lazing around. Got the dog pills in and fed. DH is off to eat mexican food so he will bring some home. I don't understand why, when he has a lunch date at noon, he is eating popcorn at 11:30, then wonders why he cant eat much lunch. Hello?
Yes I was thinking about Sandy Hook and how awful it was and how awful it is that we have done so little about it in the past 10 years. Gun violence is an epidemic and needs attention. I remember being a little kid and we did duck and cover for possible nuclear war and I actually worried Russia would attack us. But far less likely than a school shooting these days. How much fear should kids have to bear? Sorry that our teacher friends have to actually plan for that. It all makes no sense.
So we will eat the pot pie tonight unless DH brings home a boat load of mexican food. My diet plan lately is to not eat if I have to fix anything. Yesterday I brought home these potato samosas from the deli. Sort of a dumpling but with Indian style spices. Tasted great but my gut sort of voiced objections.
Gallery duty tomorrow at which I will complete christmas shopping at the winery. Maybe at the gallery too. We have boxed sets of greeting cards that might make a good gift for people who have everything.
I slept late as usual. DH brought old Chip in who was shivering. I warmed him up and he had a good nap. Nice.
Thats all folks!! (remember porky pig?)

I drove to Flagstaff this morning for a thyroid blood draw. Beautiful drive! There are two ways to get to Flagstaff from Sedona. 89A or I17. 89A is the faster way from my new house, that winds up through Oak Creek Canyon. It wasn't that far up the canyon that the snow was still pretty heavy on the trees, but the road was dry. Perfect combination! They are perpetually doing road construction, so there's a point where there are stoplights and the two directions take turns on a one lane road. So I had a chance to take a picture of the trees next to me while I was stopped. (lest you think I was taking pictures on a windy mountain road while driving).
More unpacking of boxes today. I still haven't seen my blender, FoodSaver, or salad spinner. And all kitchen boxes have been opened. Hmmm. Sun is out and it.s a warmer 43 today.
My food has been overly carb-heavy, which while tasting good doesn't make me feel good. I wish I had a switch to flip!
Take care all!
Oh Liz, an entirely sleepless night sounds miserable. I hope your bed at home in Massachusetts welcomes you warmly and you sleep well tonight.
Diane I am always cold. People walk into my classroom and complain, it's so hot in here, at least daily. I am genuinely puzzled. Is it? Its the first year I think the temperature is right, and I'm not running a space heater. Where you are probably has the added element of damp cold. Boy, that really gets you. I think 10 heated throw blankets sound about right!
CC, it's really breathtaking in your new home. And yes, thanks for stopping the car when snapping pics. :) A good policy. Where on earth are the missing appliances? These kind of mysteries make me crazy.
As always, I'm so delighted it's Friday. We've had a nice run of activities, in the past week saw 2 shows, got together with family and 3 different groups of friends, and even squeezed in a fulltime job. There is nothing on the calendar for this weekend except cookie baking. Whew. Time for a little breather. DD returns Sunday for an extended Christmas stay ****il January 11).
Not sure what we're planning for dinner. Diane's chicken pot pie always sounds good, but alas, no deli one near, so I'd probably have to make it. Seems unlikely. :)
