Three more full days until we fly. We will need to leave the house at 4:30 on Friday. Yuck! But at least with a morning flight we are unlikely to be delayed.

All children are accounted for on Christmas schedules. All will show on Christmas Day and stay that night at minimum. We will probably go with my son to his birthmother's house on Christmas Eve especially if her sister and BIL are there. Mike hasn't met them yet as they had COVID last year so didn't come. I think he and the BIL will get along well. And I enjoy the sister. Their daughters have been very close to my son since they met in their early teens. My son officiated at the marriage of one this year and he has taken trips to France and Ireland with one of the others.

Still mulling over Peps saying it is okay not to diet. The problem is how disgusted I feel when I put on clothing that is getting tighter and I'm afraid that if I am not dieting I will continue gaining. I seemed to have been in stasis last year at a higher weight than I liked but at least not changing but now that is not the case. I don't feel like I am eating a lot more but maybe I am (or maybe my metabolism is getting lower even though I am fairly active).

Today we have very little to do which is good because yesterday was somewhat busy with setting up and attending the neighborhood pool party (which was fun now that I am getting to know more people). Mike is getting his flu and pneumonia vaccines this afternoon. I already got mine but he thought his doctor would do it - I guess these days it is easier to send people to the pharmacies.

Have a timely Tuesday!

Yesterday was interesting from a weather perspective from start to finish! At around 5pm, the floor guys were gone for the day (they are looking so good! But 2 more days of it) so I thought I would drive over to the rental to put the recycling can out. They only collect recycling twice a month and my lease is over at the end of the month. Looking outside, I could see a few flurries, but they weren't sticking and the ground was dry. There was also thundersnow in the distance, but I didn't think much of it other than the lightning was pretty with the snowy backdrop. I'm still less clear about what direction is what when I look out from my house. Ha.

I got halfway to my rental and suddenly the one lane road was at a standstill. I crawled for the next HOUR, not being able to turn around because once you're in the chute over the bridges by Bell Rock, that's it. As I got closer, it dawned on me that the thundersnow in the distance was HERE. And cars had slid all over the place. Off the road, facing backwards, sideways, every which way. Even as we inched up the road, cars in front of me and behind were sliding (yay for my car, I was not sliding much). An hour and 45 minutes later I made it to the rental, not wearing the right shoes for trudging down the driveway through 4 inches of snow with frozen wheeled trash cans. An adventure to be sure! The drive back was less eventful - far fewer people going that way. I guess on I17, cars, trucks, and even a firetruck slid off the road and got stuck. I think only Flagstaff has plows and salt trucks, so it's a bit of the wild west when it comes to snow here. But you absolutely cannot deny how beautiful it is and unlike living in it constantly, it's kind of fun. It's snowing again now.

They put the flooring guys in an Airbnb. Smart rather than driving back and forth! They should be here soon. I'm headed to Prescott today for my new windshield. It's a mile to the main square from Safelite, so I can go hang out there and have lunch somewhere. Looks like lots of cute shops and a very picturesque courthouse square straight out of a movie. 33 there today, so I'm dressing appropriately!

Take care all!

I didn't realize that it could be so wintery there! February was so different when we visited.

I think it warms up in between, but a few years ago they got 21" of snow in one storm! In Prescott now. Snowing here. I got to the windshield place and they had ordered aftermarket glass when I got authorization for OEM glass. Got it straightened out, but a wasted 3 hour round trip! So I'm having lunch and going to Costco...

A quiet part of my drive (and windshield crack!)

Greetings all

I survived Scrabble this am but barely. Got beat 3 games; one by one point! These people keep getting better and I am not. oh well, it's all fun.

Our internet went out last night which meant no netflix or telephone. Who needs the land line but no good tv or on line games was a hardship. The cable company here is so crappy and because we are rural no one cares. Around here an outage is usually because someone drove their car into a pole or someone was digging on a dope farm and cut a cable.

Snow CC! I had no clue it snowed in Sedona but makes sense. Glad you are safe. I see the interstate is closed in the midwest. I am grateful I don't have to drive in the stuff anymore. But snow around those red rocks must be spectacular. Now you have to put kitty litter in your car and have an ice scraper. Foreign concepts where we live.

Liz your family plans sound great. Loads of work but great. I have not yet done one thing for Christmas.

I stopped at the grocery for a few things including roasted chicken thighs which old Chip loves. I got a pre made ham and cheese sandwich from the deli and it was about the worst thing I have ever eaten. A salt sandwich with no other flavor. Tossed a lot of it.

Cant remember if I posted that I got Chip's meds at the people pharmacy. Yesterday they sent a text wishing Chip a happy birthday! Not his birthday nor mine and I don't think they even have his birthday as he is a dog! Funny.

Pizza again tonight. This pizza place only makes one size and it's large. Fine by me.. Four meals.

Yeah Liz, I hate that feeling " I am putting on weight and can't do anything about it". Crap.

Not much else. I wi**** would warm up. Cheers.

I never felt so lost as when the internet went out here. No tv, no cell phone, nothing! How to function?!

Hello all

Popping in during a super quick break. My boss has taken his GF out to lunch so I have a moment to catch my breath. I have 5.5 days of work before the Christmas break after tonight and Im so ready ! Its that final push to get everything done and keep our clients happy. Our weather is INSANE - Completely INSANE. Its summer and we had the heating on last night. Heavy rain and freezing. Its supposed to brighten up a little after tommorrow - just in time for the weekend.

I have finished my Christmas shopping so thats a nice feeling. DH and DSD put up the tree on Sunday which was lovely. I just need to finalise the rest of the menus for Christmas Eve and Day. I love having all the kids around.

Babysitting my grandbabies on Saturday. Love them to bits. I was over there last night and picked them up from child care. Love making memories. A big part of their Christmas gift is a book of experiences with Nanna and Papa. I have made a booklet with pictures of them doing things with us - like baking Cherry Cakes, park adventures, lunch out, time at the farm etc etc - They can choose which one they would like over the coming year. Its the gift of love and time. I think thats so very important rather than a sack full of toys that will soon be yesterdays news. They of course have a bag filled with clothes, shoes and 1 toy each. I will post the semi finished book on TT.

Im calling in to pick up some presents from my mum tonight after work as DH will take them up to the farm. Also need to drop off my Aunt and Uncles present. Tis the season !

Friday night we are going to see Joseph and the technicolour dreamcoat. Im looking forward to it :)

Sunday I will do some work around the city house. Want to pressure wash the front deck and prep for Christmas but may grab a sneaky nap if time allows

Well I had best keep going. Lovely to read what you are all up to. And re the weight gain - I am bursting out of my clothes but cant summon enough willpower to stop overeating UGGGGGGGG

At least I am not alone with the weight struggles. Great to have a group like this where we all get it.
