My fourth attempt at playing 9 holes of golf is in the books. We didn't hold the people behind us up (the people in front of us held us up), and I finally got the ball over the water on the 7th hole. Some other good and bad shots but I only lost one ball. I am getting there though I really don't think I will ever love it though people here expect everyone to.

I am mulling over everyone's comments on TT, especially Peps. So helpful and thought-provoking.

I was thinking about what Diane S. said about her friend having a tough time deciding about a contract. Mike has a childhood friend who is extremely bright but can't seem to make decisions. He still lives in his parents home though they have both passed away. He has made no changes or improvements even where repairs are badly needed. The washer broke a year ago so he goes to the laundromat. He could afford to take care of all of it BTW. He is going on Medicare and calling all his friends for advice. After speaking to one of his friends, he had 9 pages of notes which he wanted to review, then interview Mike. Nine pages! Shoot me if I ever get that indecisive.

The sisters come back from their one day trip today and we are renting a boat to take out on the intracoastal for a few hours. Should be a nice day for it.

Have a marvelous Monday!

Greetings all

Quick check in before I head off to the gallery. I was hoping we were on winter hours but not until end of December. It will be dark when I close up.

I am in a much better mood today. Glass of wine and sleep do wonders. It's hard to watch my somewhat crazy friend spin her wheels and work herself into what I can see is a miserable mood. She emotes a lot. A LOT. I hate seeing her go down all these rabbit holes and spinning in circles but I can't seem to convince her to trust her lawyer's advice and not to overwork everything. But I cant fix it either. What I m trying to do is get her back into the art studio because I think it will calm and restore her.

Golf Liz! I guess it's fun if you don't take it too seriously. I played a few times with some people who made it silly. Hope you can keep it fun. And enjoy that boat trip!

Still thinking about the regain thing and trying not to beat myself up. I have a routine doctor apt tomorrow which will include weigh in but no way around it. Many years ago I used to close my eyes and tell them not to tell me. Ostrich!

Not much else. I will make a very quick store run on the way home from the gallery as it has a small town grocery that I like. And I need to run by the studio to get new stuff out of the kiln to fill my rather empty gallery display.

I will take a fair life protein drink with me to the gallery. If i take nothing else, I will have to drink it.

Good Morning All,

Tuesday here and another long week. I am so ready for Christmas break and just feel like Im hanging in - barely. I will never understand the part of human nature that seems not to learn from leaving everything to the last minute and then expecting miracles to get orders fulfilled or repairs undertaken. 24 hours in each day - that hasnt changed but seemingly we need a magic fairy wand in order to service everyones needs. Scheduling is a logistical nightmare..... Rant over. I am focusing on noon 22nd December when its all over till early January. Yay

Picking up my darling grandbabies tonight. I have made one of their favourite dinners plus Cherry cake (another hit) DH is working from home today so he will come collect them too which will be a nice surprise

Not a lot else to report. Roll on 4pm

Liz - well done on the golf - you are doing great

Diane S - Thinking of you lots

Love to all that follow. I best go find some motivation and use it. Tank is close to empty

Liz, golf sounds kind of difficult frankly, but the few times I golfed I had to swing A LOT since my ball never went far, so that's what I think of. I hope becoming a golf partner works out better for you than it did for me. I think it will, you already are doing better! Boat ride, that's my kind of afternoon activity.

Diane you're good friend to try and help, even as you can see where it's going, down the rabbit hole as you say.

Shirl, can't wait for you to get that break too. I feel like people have lost some ability to be reasonable, and can't hear no that isn't possible in that time frame. I get that from parents at work too, I want to meet with you NOW. Sorry, I have meetings before and after school every day until next Wednesday. They're not dealing... Should I not teach class so I can meet with them?

I was tired, so I took a nap when I got home. I dreamt I was at the bottom of a pond, or lake or something. I could breath easily. While I was looking up towards the surface, lots of weird fish and creatures swam by, but they were all bleached of any color, and some were translucent. I watched for awhile, and then swam to the surface. Sort of the reverse of snorkeling. Weird. Not sure what it meant.

Another week, and like Shirl, I'm looking forward to some time off for the holidays.

Weird that I have dreamed of being underwater and breathing easily too. I wonder what that means?????
