Two days until the sisters visit! Today we need to plan activities for their visit, pick up items at the food store to make leftover dishes from the chicken and turkey, and reorganize the refrigerator. What a mess with the stuff we brought back from the past week. A ton of beer and we don't even drink it!
And I need to try and come up with gifts for my eldest DD (49, unmarried, has everything), my 2 close SILs (older than me and also have everything). Then I need to figure out items for Mike's family - ugh. He isn't helpful because he just gives everyone a check, but they have me lotions and candles last year.
And finally I need to continue knitting the Christmas stocking for my great nephew. I'd like to have it in the mail during the first week of December.
Not much else going on. Time for a Justice walk. Have a munificent Monday!

Crickets in here!
Today I spent a few hours with the treasurer of another local nonprofit who is getting her CPA and she helped me with QuickBooks. Still loads of questions, but it helped. Then I came home and worked on my treasurer's report for our board meeting tomorrow. Tonight we're going out for pizza with some local friends.
Liz, I am trying to think of experience gifts for people as no one seems to need more stuff. could you give your daughter a plane ticket to come stay with you in FL at a time of her choosing? or tickets to a show?
Take care all!
Greetings all
Sitting here air drying my hair. It's cold so I am not going out. But the shower sure warmed me up. I keep thinking I would like a hot tub but don't want to mess with one. And I don't want to go all the way to the gym either. Guess I will just sit and *****
Liz those family members are not easy to shop for. Suggestion: stuff to read and stuff to eat. I guess magazine subscriptions are too old fashioned but a new best seller book might work. Or some of those super fancy pears from Harry and David. Or restaurant gift certificate. As I have mentioned, I am doing my shopping at the local Fieldbrook Winery and will get another case of their pino rose. Hey I bet grown ups would like a knitted stocking. Not just for kids! Also packages of fancy coffee and tea. I gave my scrabble buddy some ultra rich fancy coco mix last year. Cheese assortment?
CC good luck with quickbooks. I used it at the art gallery but was not good at it. We had a version with a zillion features we never used like payroll and inventory. Do you have a version designed for non profits?
We keep watching Yellowstone. Even though it is so macho it's ridiculous I am kind of getting into the characters. How many fist fights per day can some cowhands have? We are also into the 5th season of the Crown. Previous queen was better.
Green beans and smoked sausage made a good dinner. Encore tonight.
Not much else. Cheers. Diane S

I wi****here isn't a separate non-profit version. So the customization is figuring out what to hide and what to add so it fits a non-profit. And accounting, as the woman I met with today said, is taking 20 steps to do what should be able to be done in 2, which I keep fighting. For example I just want to show money being transferred in from the community foundation that is currently holding it for us and me moving it out to pay bills. But I have to create an invoice for the community foundation as if I am billing them for ghostly "services" that doesn't get sent so I can match it to the bank record of the money coming in. It feels like a weird second step.
Ah, Christmas shopping. One year I tried to convince DH's family that we should take the money we spent on gifts and all go do something together like go on a hayride or sledding or bowling. It wasn't too well received.
I am always happy to receive new socks and pajamas and gloves, because these things wear out (or in the case of gloves get lost). One time my Aunt gave me a pack of scissors. A most welcome gift. Where do all the scissors go? I suspect the garage. Books for someone *****ads, a new release hardcover is always still a treat. Gift certificate for a massage or other spa treatment? I like the idea of consumables too. And though they don't last long, having flowers delivered is always a treat.
We had a successful gathering last night, our friends mother, who is 85, came with her granddaughter at 3pm, and they stayed until 8pm. I hope I am as lively at 85, heck, I might not be as lively at 61!
Tonight I am making crockpot lasagna for DS. Not lasagna in the purist form, but he loves this version. His sister got her favorite dish last night: stuffed pasta shells. Those I do with more authenticity. But in any case, we are embracing the marinara sauce this week.
Snow forecast tomorrow, all day storm DS is wondering if he should start for home tonight, after dinner Sure want him to stay one more day as planned, but it might be more prudent. We'll be checking updated weather report again soon.
Weight loss, weight maintenance? I will think about that later...
You should think later! Sounds like your visit with DD and DS is going well!

Afternoon All,
Im peeking in after being out running errands for the past 2.5 hours. Nice to get out in the sunshine, got lots achieved but Im now behind in my administration work. Uggg...
Had a lovely Saturday with our grandboys. It was wonderful to spend quality time with them. DH went to watch DSS race his motorbike Sunday. I wrapped and organised everyones Christmas presents, had my car serviced, eye test and picked new glasses, went Christmas shopping with DS then came home and wrapped all his gifts for him. I made 2 Cherry cakes and then burgers for Sunday evening. We went to DSS for dinner - DSD and her partner came as well. It was nice :)
We are going to DSS tonight for our weekly catch up. DH is getting his Ute back from the repairers. He had a guy reverse into his ute at the fuel station ! Go figure. Thats about all I have to report. I had best go tackle these calls and orders etc

Long day at the salt mine! LOL! After a full day, I had to go to a meeting with a few gentlemen from the Ukulele club again to firm a few things up. This time the director of program came along. When we were leaving she asked me about retiring and asked for assurance that I was staying on another 4 years after this one..... I laughed and told her I have been planning on only two, but if I still enjoy what I am doing in 2 years, I could stay on an extra year or two. Nice to be valued in my new position.
Weight remains absolutely stuck in a .5 range. I LOVE IT! Will be interesting to see if I make another drop in a few weeks continuing the way I am eating. We shall see.
Only two more days of bachelorhood before Ron returns. Must get some more cleaning done! It'll all go to pot once he's back.... LOL!
I have been enjoying Netflix.... Watched Call Me by Your Name the other night. LOVED IT! Slow, but beautiful and bitter sweet. I love the authenticity of the gay relationship portrayed by the two actors. Finished The Crown and The Sandman. Started Our Universe, 1899, Inside Man, and The Midnight Club.... Not sure about 1899.... The others I'm definitely hooked into already. I feel quite self indulgen****ching so much TV this past week. Kind of fun. I won't keep it up, but it was fun while it lasted.
Best part of the day..... No more horrific office manager at my home school! Ding Dong the ***** is gone..... Was so wonderful to see my original office manager from 30 years ago step in to her old job to help out. She retired from the district as assistant to the Superintendent at the end of 2021, but has agreed be our interim person until they hire a new person. I'm just elated that the horric, lying woman is gone!
I hope you all had the Merriest of Mondays.
