Good morning! Another bright sunny day here in the bold north, this time the sun has brought a string of somewhat mild days. A respite. Snowfall predicted for Tuesday.
I thought I had a do nothing day again, but we are going to entertain. Our dear friends have Covid, and normally they visit their widowed mother either Saturday or Sunday. Since they cannot, we will have her join us at our house for an early dinner today. I was already planning on pasta shells per the request of my children so it will work out great.
Yesterday I relaxed, and started reading Sooley By John Grishman. I can't remember if anyone here recommended it, but so far, I am enjoying the story. In the later afternoon, DH and I went to buy groceries. We really needed to do a stock up trip and went to Costco and the regular grocery store. I was tired, but I still cooked dinner when we got home. I think I am finally close to normal.
Time for tea and the Sunday paper, and then I may need to tidy up the house just a bit. Have a great end to the Thanksgiving holiday!

Beat me by 2 min, DD!
Here I sit, full of blueberry pancakes and bacon from Sunday breakfast. I'm going to need a detox...
I'm watching Miss Scarlet and the Duke on PBS Passport. Cute show.
Two projects I'm working on today - demolding the basement room with the well pumps and descaling the kitchen faucet. Ah, well water!
Maybe more later if I do anything today!
This week went by far too quickly for my liking! But, it's only 3 weeks before winter break! I have enjoyed my week practicing retirement. One thing i can see is that I will need to take classes or do some type of volunteer work. I will need reasons to leave the house and go out and about. Could also be that I'm just really enjoying hunkering down.
My weight has not fluctuated more than .5 pounds this entire week.
I decided to give yoga another try. I really do need help with flexibility. And since I am on hold with the trainer this is a good time to restart that endeavor.
Nothing scheduled for today other than puttering about. I want to do some trimming (dog), get a little more house work done and finish the laundry for the school week.
DH has his 20 or so part time hours of work to give his days structure during retirement, but I'm not really too concerned about it. We teachers practice every summer! I do have to set an alarm in the summer or I will drift to a super night owl schedule, but aside from that, the days fill up really fast. I might feel differently though if I was retired and living in this climate in the winter. It could be way too easy to hibernate. Definitely want to be a snowbird!
I am glad to hear that you are finally feeling like your energy is back DD. Sounds like everyone had a fairly relaxing and enjoyable Thanksgiving week.
Retirement is great and one does learn how to fill one's time with activities, part-time work, and/or volunteer efforts.
We are home, Justice is here curled up like a little bagel after our walk mid-day and the Christmas tree is up. Just one garland to put up over the mirror and I am done.
I also did some cleaning today in preparation for the arrival of Mike's sisters on Wednesday.
Tonight we are at the clubhouse for dinner and a comedy show. We really would rather stay home but made the arrangements a couple of weeks ago. We are going out with a couple we met through bocce who were renting here but are going back to their remodeled home in Orlando this week. Nice couple who met at about the same time we did and got married at approximately the same time.
The good thing is that we don't have much to do tomorrow and Tuesday so can rest prior to the upcoming visit.
Have a sunny remainder of your Sunday!

Greetings all
Another awesome sunny day here but rather cold. I am feeling chilled a lot in my old age. Not for lack of insulation! And I always have a blanky on me whether I sit on the couch or at my desk.
DD a day with a book sounds great. I used to read all those Grisham books. Glad you are feeling better and survived costco. I used to call shopping day "going to the co's" because it was first Costco and then Winco. I would come home with bags and bags of stuff. I am a much different shopper now post vsg - going to the store much more frequently but buying less at one time.
Dinner tonight is green beans and smoked sausage. And it's fresh green beans which means they may be tough but we will live.
Gallery parts went well yesterday. I ducked out quickly but can tell on line that our sales were excellent. Tax planning here we come.
CC blueberry pancakes and bacon! sounds fabulous. Enjoy.
Liz I am sure you agree with me that being retired has no lack of stuff to do. There is tons of fun stuff. I thought I would make pottery and play bridge. Got bored with bridge but there is no end to clay.
Not much else. Dogs are lobbying me...
