Less than one month to Christmas. Yikes! We don't do a lot of gift giving in my immediate family but now there are the two grand-nephews, two step grand-children and Mike's whole family to buy something for. They all gave me something last year (lotions, candles) though I just got something for the kids. Mike hadn't warned me, but he may not have known they would do that.
In the meantime we have to pack up and be out of the rental house in 2.5 hours. Packing the stuff we brought is easy, but then there is the leftover food... unbelievable quantities IMHO, though Mike's son-in-law commented earlier this week that they never left much behind. Last year there was as much as this year!!!
We will visit with my brother and friends on this Florida coast today then drive the 3 hours back to the other coast. ETA tonight is between 8-9 pm. Justice pickup tomorrow morning around 8:30 am. Yeah!!!
Have a satisfactory Saturday!

What a whirlwind you had Liz! And yeah for Justice pick up. Amazing how those pets become so much a part of us. We just don't see having another pet right now (first time in 35 years) but we sure do enjoy visiting with other peoples dogs and cats. Everyone of them has their own personality.
Yes, to those of you who liked Knives Out, I don't think you will be disappointed by The Glass Onion. Sometimes sequels are less than, this was super fun, I didn't want it to end. You get the feeling Daniel Craig just loves inhabiting this character.
I am alone in the house right now, and frankly loving it. All my important, beloved people will be returning in a bit, and I welcome that. I also relish an hour or two of silence before it all starts up again.
Not sure what we will do this afternoon. We'll let the muse guide us.

Lazy day! Lots of football being watched in the other room. I did take a drive with my dad's wife and we went to a few cute stores in town. But otherwise, I've moved very little...
I think last night of leftovers for dinner.
Otherwise, I've got nothin'! How everyone is having a nice weekend!
Greetings all
One bad thing about not cooking the turkey and such is that there are no leftovers. Our host used to often send stuff home with us but not this time. Fine with me except there is nothing better than a turkey sandwich with mayo and cranberry on it. Guess I will add that to my craving list along with the perfect ham sandwich.
Peps I'm with you on the "diner" green beans. Yuck. I think of them as grade school cafeteria green beans - canned in a giant can in a different decade. Of course I ate them as a kid. I don't think I ever ate fresh ones until I was a grown up. I thought frozen ones were high end. And I am sorry your dad is declining. Would it help him to get some new measuring stuff that has big letters? Stollen sounds great.
Chip is 16 today. I was not sure he would make it but here he is. The girl dogs are doing tag team wrestling in his honor. He had a dinner of the leftover post roast last night and it seemed to perk him up. The last of it is tonight.
So we spent black friday NOT shopping. What a horrid thought. Instead we watched our football team play their last game of the season. They actually won! It was a big deal. I also made parmesan crisps for the gallery party today. They came out great. Using a different and high end parmesan is worth it. Not oily. Anyway I took them up to the gallery this am and then made my escape. I did not want to get roped in to doing busy work which queen#2 is famous for creating. But I am glad I took the treats as all they had was brownies and a non sweet alternative was needed. Then I stopped at the small grocery for a few things and ended up buying a bit of junk food. That adage about not going to the store when you are hungry is a good one.
Liz I can hardly keep up with your travels but love hearing about it. I do not envy you adding Mike's family to your shopping list. I told DH when he was married that I was absolutely not assuming gift and card responsibilities for his family. Cooking and hostessing was enough. But thanks for the reminder that tis the season and I must get gifts for our friends. Case of wine, here we come.
CC you know what to do with MI guy. Hope the rest of your time in the north is fun and that you get just the right amount of christmas snow.
DD don't you just love having the whole house to yourself? It's kind of liberating like "I can do whatever I want" even if it's staying in bed and reading. It's also always nice when someone comes home. Enjoy the day.
Not much else. Cheers all. Diane S
