Mike and I are leaving in 7 minutes to pick his son up at the airport. No one else is up yet. When we get back I need to make my baked goods for tomorrow. Then move my stuff to another room for one night. I am feeling irritated about having to vacate the room for Mike's friend, but can't say much as it is important to him.

Time to get ready to go!

Would it be Thanksgiving if I didn't have to make a last minute dash to the grocery store because I forgot the walnuts? Years ago, I made a Thanksgiving shopping list (I use the app AnyList for shopping and you can reuse lists). That first year, I already had walnuts, so I didn't put it on the list. Every year since, I have forgotten to buy walnuts, which I need for my grandmothers cranberry sauce recipe because it's not on the list. Every. Freaking. Year. So today was my dash to the crowded store for walnuts. Ah, traditions...

I'm on my own this beautiful sunny day as my dad had a dermatologist appt for his quarterly burning of the evidence of his youthful, non-sunscreen years. I'm like a cat curled up in the sun watching Netflix.

Food can't be spoken of. That's for fixing next week.

I have all my timers set up for tomorrow. Makes for a very low-stress high tastiness reward day.

Hope everyone is well!

I Netflixed last night. Delightful!

Well, here I am with a morning completely "wasted". Absolutely delightful! My grooming cancelled, so I schlepped around making a batch of dog food, feeding dogs, making the bed, taking a nice "California Long" shower (probably a full 5 minutes!), and puttering a bit on the computer. Next up is getting paperwork filled out for my dad's move into assisted living. We meet with the director of the site for lease signing, etc... today at 3pm.

I had a little drop in weight that seems to be sticking. I've stayed here for 3 days, so I'm counting it now as a real little drop. I bought a pumpkin pie last night. My brother said he would get one, but I love having left over pie after Thanksgiving. And since I'm learning to eat "normally" I can rationalize having it in the house. Dear Lord! Can you say eating disorder at work? Ah, but yesterday night I had the pie, bakery cookies, and ice cream in the house. What did I do? I chose which I wanted and ate only that one. Who is this person????? I did toy with the idea of pumpkin pie for breakfast, but also chose not to do that. It would have set me up for a day of high sugar/low sugar cycles all day. And I HATE those kinds of days.

Started watching 1899 on Netflix. I am undecided. However, Chris Hemsworth's new series on Disney is now streaming and that looks like a lot of fun. Looks like they send him on all sorts of death defying daredevil adventures and he does the stunts and reports back on the experience. There's also the eye candy perk!

Wishing all a wonderful Thanksgiving Eve....

I'm watching 1899 now. Strange. But sticking with it for now

Not a "wasted" day at all! It sounds like you are enjoying your me time, which is important!

Good of you to make the accommodation for Mike's friend, because it's important to Mike. Vent all you want here. Since Mike's friend can't seem to change his behavior to accommodate anyone, what is his story? I can't imagine a person gets a lot of invitations when they're so disruptive.

Peps, how awesome you had a do as you please morning. My work day (and yours too) is so structured. We teach 6 periods, and I have days with meetings before period 1 and again right after period 6, I feel ruled by the clock. I love unstructured, down time.

CC, hope that was your last trip to the store before the holiday. DH had to venture to Costco. Madhouse was his description. Its because we can't be trusted with the pumpkin pie until the last minute.

Training time at school was actually better than expected. Had some nice time to interact with some of my co-workers. There are always a few people that I could do without, but the vast majority of my co-workers are smart, interesting people. That is something to be thankful for.

Greetings all

I am thankful I did not have to brave grocery stores today. I have what I need. DH decided he needed blueberries so he went to the store. big surprise, it was packed! Oh well, not me. I think I am a bit of an agoraphobic since I just hate going into big crowded stores.

DD you should get into scrabble. Its fun. And I am a lousy speller. You can play on line in void mode and it won't let you misspell a word. The game is as much about space and location as it is words. There is an interesting book "Word Freak" about the weird world of competitive scrabble players. I played some tournaments years ago. Fun. Go to isc.ro to play on line. There are scrabble clubs all over the world.

Liz you are a trooper to put up with Mike's friend. I am impressed that he has a lot of long time friends. Some men just don't do that very well. No doubt you will find out what Mike enjoys about him even if he is noisy in the morning.

I visited the studio today. It was hopping. Hardly any place to park. A class was underway and people all over - I think trying to finish up items ahead of Christmas. No friday firing this week but it's no big deal.

DH did find pot pies at the deli so I guess thats dinner. I seem to take the path of least resistance on food prep these days. I want whatever is easiest.

Peps yay for having a lazy day. Everyone needs one. Sometimes I think part of my overeating issues were related to being so time pressured and work pressured. It was a brief respite from the real world to have some sneaky yummy food. Well time pressure is no longer my excuse but now its lack of energy. It's always something.

CC we will have to see about 1899. We like to watch "Accapulco" even though it is silly.

Time to feed the dogs. The old one acts wild and frisky when I get home and herds me into the kitchen. I get the hint.

The dogs always come first. I miss Justice.

Mike and his friend were childhood buddies. When Mike's marriage broke up his friend helped in a lot of ways including the start of calling him every morning to make sure he was okay. Mike is very loyal and gets it returned.
