VSG Maintenance Group
Veterans Day, Friday November 11, 2022
Thank you to all Veterans who have protected us over the years, sometimes at a great sacrifice to themselves and their families.
Yesterday the storm pulled out completely by late afternoon so we were able to take a long Justice walk. We also took a short drive downtown to see what was damaged, but it wasn't much other than the boardwalk. One restaurant on the river appeared to have flooded but not the ones on the ocean which are on stilts. One of the bridges over the intracoastal was also closed but we don't know why.
Today everything opens back up including our beach club. Apparently the facility itself is fine but the beach is eroded all the way back to the dunes. We usually sit at the beach so I wonder if that area will be available for that purpose anytime in the near future. We are also getting our COVID vaccinations today now that it has been a few months since we had COVID (my doctor suggested we do it now).
Have a veritable Veteran's Day!

Greetings all
Shout out to all veterans! Thank you for your service. My dad served in WW2. He would be 100 if he were alive.
Liz so glad you came through the hurricane with few ill effects. Some of the news was frightening as some places fell in and the beach is gone. Hope your beach club ends up with useable beach. You guys are beach experts.
Good luck with sleep aids Peps. Hope you find a good routine. I am a life long failure at sleeping and depend on Ambien. Not a good thing but the alternative is terrible. And yeah I hear you on feeling cranky/off. Not sure if it relates to air pressure, sunlight, astrology or, most likely, other people's bull**** as per DD's theory.
I roasted a beef brisket last night. It was pretty tough. I guess I didn't cook it long enough. I think I will chop it up and make it into some kind of beef stew. Maybe in the slow cooker.
DH is off to lunch with his buddies so I get to control the tv. So I will lounge about and later go to the studio as I did yesterday.
My neighbor, the fence builder, is re opening her massage therapy business. She is quite good as my SIL's used her services some years ago when visiting. I could use some good massage for my aching back but I am concerned because she is an anti-vax person for some kind of hippy dippy reason. So far I have managed to avoid covid and hope to continue.
Not much else. Time to get a few things done. But first, more coffee. Diane S
Good luck!
