Hurricane Nicole hit made a direct hit in our town in the middle of the night, but we were snug here. Though we were technically in the voluntary evacuation area our home is west of the intracoastal so we fared fine. Not even a power outage. The sun actually tried to peek out a couple of minutes ago though we will probably stay in until this afternoon when the wind/rain bands die out. The coastline may be eroded quite a bit so that will be interesting to hear about. Hopefully our beach club didn't get damaged.
We watched a very interesting documentary yesterday called "Three Identical Strangers". Part of what was interesting was the obvious effects of genetics vs. environment which I have seen in my own adopted children. However, it was very disturbing to hear about the research project which precipitated the separation of the siblings at birth to different families.
We also watched some totally lightweight Hallmark movies. LOL
Time to get some breakfast. Have a thriving Thursday!

Liz, I'm glad you fared well during the storm. I hope your beaches are not too terribly damaged. Justice would miss his beach walks! I am quite interested in the documentary you watched. Is it on Netflix?
I am in a weird space. Not sure what the root of my dissatisfaction is (other than the fact that my eating disorder work is tough right now), but I am in one of those moods in which I get stuck on a thought and don't want to let go of it. I feel almost borderline angry about things.... Example - my trainer wants to revamp my workouts because "...we aren't getting enough in to body part out sessions". My reaction is to just take a break and workout on my own. I know how to do full body workouts - push/pull/legs... DONE! So I may just save a bunch of money and workout on my own. My gym membership is a lot less expensive than private training sessions.
I am off this evening to Napa for a weekend of dog shows. I generally like my time at shows when I take the RV. I use the time to relax and just chill with the few dogs I take with me. I am hoping that a few evenings on my own will be refreshing.
I have tried CBN a few nights to enhance sleep quality. Not sure I like it. I find that my sleep is kind of off when I take it. Going to try it for a few more nights, but I think I prefer my regular non-CBN sleep!
Weight is stable. Eating is okay. Not much else....
We watched the documentary on HULU. It was actually released in 2018.
I feel that sleep brought about with outside help often isn't as full as "real" sleep. Okay when one is desperate for any sleep but not for the long run. I used several different sleep aids over the years and reached that conclusion (at least my myself).

I watched that a few years ago. Crazy what people will do to others in the name of science.
No furniture delivery today. The truck they allocated to me is still broken. They said maybe next week. Sigh. Today is cleaning the house as my friend is coming tonight. True to form, it takes the prospect of exposing my mess to others to make me really clean! Never just for me... I leave to pick her up at 8, her flight gets in at 10, which means we won't be home until 12:30 or later. Argh!
I went to Home Depot today and returned my fancy trash cans I ordered. They are way too big. Still hunting for new ones.
Food is good, but likely won't be keto this weekend. I can do my best, but I don't want to inflict it on someone else.
Best get back to sprucing everything up!
Must be frustrating to have to wait for your furniture. I never moved out of state or had to use storage so pack up and delivery was same day.
I hate housecleaning but I find that using my little robot vacuum and doing important bathroom cleaning gives me a lot of time between major efforts like floor washing. Clutter is always under control because it makes me crazy and Mike is surprisingly neat, though dust and dirty floors don't bother him. He is having the house cleaner do a thorough cleaning while we are up north which should allow me to stay in minimal maintenance mode until we leave for for our next adventures at the beginning of March.

Happy to hear you survived the Hurricane well Liz. Looks like Daytona beach took a hit. Seems like some sea walls hadn't been rebuilt yet... Tough weather year in Florida.
We saw the movie Three Identical Strangers in the theater when it first came out. My daughter works in research for the VA now, and spends a great deal of time making sure their studies meet some rather rigorous ethical standards, as it should be. Oversight has improved greatly. Looking back, it's crazy what researchers got away with in the past. The Stanford Prisoner Study comes to mind.
DH is home, and I am happy. I slept a lot yesterday, but I suspect I will sleep even better with him here.
Peps, who knows why we get out of sorts with everything around us, and why it all just annoys, low key angers us. When I am moving towards anger more easily, one thing I explore: am I actually sad? Am I hurt? Or maybe I am just tired and sick of everyone's bull crap. Hope a weekend away helps you recalibrate.
Yes, I was just reading about those homes in Daytona Beach falling into the water. Our town seems to have required a certain amount of setback as there are no homes or condo buildings that close to the water. There are a couple of very old restaurants too close but they survived because they are up on major stilts sort of like a pier. The boardwalk was sadly compromised because it is located too close. They keep repairing it after major storms but I wonder if they will just take it down now as the beach was eroded up to it even prior to Nicole.
