So Nicole switched a couple of times from a Tropical Storm Watch to a Hurricane Watch to a Tropical Storm Warning. Regardless it will be windy and rainy tomorrow and Thursday. The most immediate concern is that we retain power at the house but the storm surge could be a big issue on the beaches here which have already been eroded significantly by rough seas lately. We will bring the lanai furniture and grill inside and pick up some food and propane to heat it on in case we lose electricity. Fun, fun...

I bought 2 dresses through Poshmark for $69. I hope at least one fits/looks good though with our recent socializing both will be used at some point probably. I do love using that site as I've gotten some really nice clothing for short money. After I lost a lot of weight following VSG, I discovered ThredUP and Poshmark. So much less expensive to dress well.

ETA: Political Ads end today. Yahoo!

Second coffee cup time. Have a thrifty Tuesday!

I will sheepishly admit to buying a few lotto tickets. And I thought, rats I didn't win until I realized that due to a screw up on CA's part, the drawing from last night didn't happen and is still pending (I was looking at the 5ths numbers). So we all get to dream about what we would do with all that and who we would share it with a little while longer.

I have put a moratorium on myself for buying things for the house. Yesterday I used my once yearly big discount at Container Store to order organizing things for my bathroom and kitchen drawers and pantry and filled in with Amazon for things that were cheaper there. Also new bathroom trashcans as I got rid of several that were on their last legs from my last house. These have lids in anticipation of one day having a puppy.

Speaking of scents, I erred in buying scented trash bags, smelling the box and thinking it was nice (cherry blossom). They are heinous when unraveled. And I have 40 of them! I know better!

Today I am taking my car to Flagstaff for it's annual service, a recall, and to have them look at the hinge on the gas cap door that sticks out wrong after I shut it on the cord that holds the gas cap to the car. Hopefully they have a loaner for me, but if not I'll take a book and settle in for a long stay. When I took my car in for Service A last year, the guy warned me this year's Service B was pricy. Argh. Good to have it not be a surprise though.

If they do have a loaner for me, I will hustle back and meet with the pool guy to teach me how to do everything "pool." If not, I'll have to wait until next time he comes for that.

Food is still good and the scale is creeping up. I know this pattern well, but doesn't mean I like it!

DD said she came out of her procedure a bit sore, but feeling pretty okay. DH says she's been sleeping well all afternoon. I'm glad he's there to supervise.

Another day without students, got some more tasks accomplished. Both mornings I have so longed to sleep just a couple more hours. I don't know how I can stay home any more days. I'll run out of sick pay. Somewhat miserable by the end of the day, but simply not sick enough to stay home for an extended leave. Life in America. At least I have paid sick days. Sadly, there are a lot of workers who don't. So, I continue to cut away the superfluous wherever I can, come home, and rest.

Does your district not offer paid Covid19 leave without deduction from your sick leave???? People can say what they want about the Libtards in California, but at least we do have a few things right like Covid leave is paid and not deducted from your sick pay if you are a public state employee. Here they WANT you to STAY HOME.

I attended a retirement zoom/audio webinar this afternoon on my way to the vet hospital. Looks like retiring at 61 will be doable.

We did through June 2022. Now you have to stay home 5 days after a positive test, and you use your own sick days. Yes, it would seem to encourage people to lie, I don't have Covid, I have a cold. I actually have a decent bank of days, but it's easy to burn through them, and it's only November. I also try to keep my sick leave bank higher in case I need to do Family Leave to take care of my parents. 2 3/4 years to retirement.
