Another more or less sunny day to be followed by some rainier ones. A tropical storm is expected to scoot by during the middle of the week.
CC, do let us know when you find a good skin cream. I hate the smelly stuff too. You probably recall that when I was in Arizona earlier this year I complained about the dry air. My skin and nasal passages suffered a lot. Lots of salves and lotions, but nothing was all that great. And I was more thirsty than I have ever been elsewhere.
DD, maybe the cough is hanging on due to the combo of COVID and PE? I hope you aren't back to work again yet?
Diane, soup is always good when it is cool/rainy. I should plan something like that for this week with the forecast here.
Shirl, don't work too hard! Difficult for you to rest, I know.
Peps, I hope all is well.
Paula, take good care of yourself while grieving for your Dad.
Golfing went okay yesterday. It was my third venture actually playing on a course and the first where I played every hole. I lost 3 balls, LOL. Two were on the hole where one tees off next to the water and have to send the ball over it. I did hit the wall with one - if it had been just half a foot higher it would have made it to the green. Anyway, I am slowly getting somewhat able to sort of play.
I have an offer in on a Poshmark dress for less than $50. There are others I can go to as backups if this one falls through. I love getting good deals - I always look for new with tags or like new quality. This one has tags.
Time to get ready for water aerobics. We will probably do our usual Justice walk afterwords.
Have a munificent Monday!

First attempt at a new cleanser is one by La Roche Posay meant for dry sensitive skin and non-comedogenic. Foaming which I like and it didn't feel drying. Woke up with one of those tiny zits in the fold of my nose that are unseeable, but hurt! I'll give the new cleanser a few days.
The internet is having a tantrum at the rental today. So annoying. Hopefully the new house with a different provider will be better.
Funny low humidity thing I discovered... I have Ugg scuff slippers with the hard sole. I kept thinking the tile floor was covered in sand or dirt because it crackles and feels like walking on grit. So I would vacuum and it would still happen. I just realized it's static electricity crackling under my feet when I walk! When these slippers wear out, I'll need some with a different kind of sole...
Food is good. Scale is the same.
I looked this up after reading your post. Very interesting! https://www.azcentral.com/story/entertainment/life/2019/11/1 3/what-causes-static-electricity-how-do-i-get-rid-of-it/4165 052002/

Greetings all
Quick check in while I decide what to do today. Studio time is likely since it's raining pretty heavily and it will continue. These cloudy mornings make me want to stay in pjs all day.
I made some chicken and noodles last night as a comfort food. I made it very plain in case it ends up being dog food. More tonight.
CC hope the face cleaner works. It's no fun looking for new ones. Someone gave me a goat milk one awhile back and I gave it to my housekeeper. Who on earth thinks it's a good idea to put food on your face. It goes IN your face, not ON it. Anyway I hate all the cremes and such that have bee wax and pollen and lavender sage goo. There are so many hippie type people that slather on that kind of goo rather than keeping clean and they just reek. I used to play scrabble with a guy who had a business that made some kind of hair care products and I could hardly be in the same room. My pet peeve is people who use these strong smelling products and go around smelling like a cheap air wick in a dumpy gas station! And tv commercials for those pellets you put in your washer to perfume your laundry! Ick ick ick.
And CC I hope you solve the static problem. We had a whole house humidifier in the midwest. Worth it.
Liz the dress sounds like a deal. go for it.
So the new puppy is very cute and sweet. He is rather timid but eventually curled up on my lap. He likes to walk around with a tennis ball. His home is with two other active dogs and a cat so no wonder he is a bit intimidated. But he follows my friend all around the house and followed me to the bathroom. He eats like a horse even though he is quite slim. I think he is going to fit right in. Sure is cute.
Not much else. Time to get busy.

I love puppies - good thing Justice is almost like a puppy or I could be in danger of wanting another.

Oh no, I am the odd man out. I loooove lavender, real lavender. I keep a sachet in my desk for comforting whiffs. I hate manufactured scents like wildflower passion or whatever. DH and I used to argue about that because he would love to buy those fake floral scented powders you sprinkle on the carpet before you vacuum. He thought they were delightful, I thought they were gaggy. But I do love a candle with a good quality lemon essence, or other citrus, or lemon/basil... And I am chagrined to admit I like the scent of Gain detergent. It probably sounds like a nightmare over here! Over the years I've had coworkers and students who have fragrance sensitivities, so I no longer wear perfume to work, and I don't actually use Gain, even though I like it, because it seems to be a scent trigger for a lot of people.
Dropped DH off at the airport. 3 more nights with him away. I was teasing him because I got one of those fishing/spam texts: Hey Jenny, should we meet at the sports bar where we used to hang out? Obviously, not Jenny, and also pretty obvious, I'm not much for hanging out at sports bars. But anyhow, it appears I have options. Maybe even a Nigerian Prince. Who knows? DH didn't seem overly concerned :)
I like to watch the local news. I cannot wait to get back to the normal commercials for Colonial Penn Insurance and walk in baths. There should be some research firm studying how to use political ads as part of interrogation methods. Or maybe that would violate Geneva Conventions...

Real lavender on the plant is nice. Somehow when Whole Foods gets ahold of it and shoves it in their soaps it turns offensive. And that is so funny about Gain. I can't stand it. It smells like flowery pepper to me. In fact, it's what the owners of my rental used and supplied. I had to rewash the sheets and towels in regular Tide to get the Gain out. Scents are polarizing things. I actually like the Tide version of those scent pellets, DianeS! But most of them, are too much.
I can't wait for the politics to go away too and I don't even have cable to see those ads! YouTube ads are irritating and insulting enough.
Hey DD
Enjoy your Gain! I actually like the smell of lavender if it's still in the plant. Ditto a rose - there is nothing more lovely than delicate rose scent. But somehow when they take it and put it into toilet cleaner it is just so wrong. I remember taking my car to be serviced and the service main was wearing some horrific cologne. And when I got into my car, I could smell that same smell! There are people who live out here because of the clean air and do so because they are chemically sensitive. I guess I get it.
I'm with you on hoping tv adds go back to fast food and cat litter.
Diane S
I agree that REAL lavender is nice, but not in most creams, etc.
