We had a good time at the wine social last night sitting with our neighbors and chatting with others. We were invited to join another couple we met through Bocce for a higher end "wine dinner" in a couple of weeks (this one was a buffet, but that one has a higher level chef making sit-down meals and higher-end wines). We are starting to feel welcome here. I sometimes wonder if Mike would be happier staying in his "hermit" mode? But he really did want a partner and likes to be active. In fact he is more outgoing at these things than me. Maybe he had anticipatory anxiety (I do before events to some extent too)?

Anyway, I am waiting for Mike to awaken and the morning rain to stop. I was hoping for an early walk before it got too hot but I don't think that is in the cards as the AC people are coming to do maintenance in less than an hour. Tonight is another social event but it is centered around giving trees for local organizations. Everyone dresses up like a Christmas party, listens to music, eats robust appetizers and talks. I wi**** wasn't back to back with the one last night but this one won't run as late.

Have a thriving Thursday!

Sometimes people need a partner in crime or someone to take the lead to be social. I am 1000% better with another person than alone!

Windy and cold today. Brrr. I'm actually not sure I have warm enough clothes that fit to spend much time outside today...

I had two house successes and no failures yesterday. The stone floor guy came from Scottsdale and really seemed to know his stuff. What I thought were areas that needed cleaning are actually spots where the installer ground down edges of the travertine tiles that weren't flush. Grrr. Covering up their mistakes and creating new problems. So clear to see once it was pointed out. So they need to do a separate step to try to bring those edges back in line with the rest of the tile finishwise. The shower alone is an all day job given the number of steam showers they did with minerals building up on the walls. They will also clean and reseal the flagstone rooms. So, a three day job and the estimate shows! But it'll be done right.

Second success was resetting all the wifi points so I can access them and rename and repassword them. I'm still working on the Nest doorbell, but it's a start!

I also got my car scheduled for service and talked to the pool guy about meeting me to explain the pool next week. Making lists too. Sounds like the moving van thing is going to be moe complicated than I thought, but it'll work out. Eventually.

Today I need to drop my rural delivery form at the post office and take a load of stuff over. And pick up some groceries.

Food is still good, but the scale still completely stalled. Frustrating, but I will persevere!

Sounds like you got it all going like a well oiled machine. Good for you! You're going to love your new house. Maybe a pup will find its way there, too????

Yes to the pup!! I really need to sit down and figure out the questions to ask the breeders about health clearances for their goldens, how they are raised, etc.

Peeking in with a big TGIF from here in Australia. Flippered feet coupled with a healthy loathing for rain........ The amount we have had is now ridiculous. Shops and homes flooded and roads still closed. Its impacting a lot of businesses - ours included! Only yesterday I had to take one of the work 4WDs to a site and assist to tow out our tipper truck. The team had gotten bogged trying to leave a site. The ground water is incrediable. I got the ride on mower bogged at the farm last weekend - John had to tow me out with the tractor......

Have a weekend at the city house. Both my sons are in South Australia for their fathers wedding. John and I are going to give my Mums front garden a trim and tidy up (long overdue) She will then come and join us for dinner. Wanted to get her out of the house for a bit as she tends to be a house hobbit. Sunday Im hoping to get the dogs both bathed and maybe if the weather holds take our grandsons to a Festival? Also planning to do some bulk cooking over the weekend as well.

Weight is still being ignored. Im not in the right head space to deal with it atm. I have been having a lot of hip pain and got the test results back this week. Im averaging 2-5 hrs sleep a night due to the pain and its wearing me down. I have burstitis and am scheduled for a cortizone injection on the 18th of this month. Im hopeful it will give me relief.

Thats about all I have ....... Just been busy between work and family. The days just fly past. I will try and go back and catch up on everyones news. I miss you all lots and will try and be more present

Have a wonderful weekend

Oh my gosh Shirl, for some reason it just tickles me to think of you all running every single thing in the office, and then jumping into a truck to go rescue a worker. What can't you do?
