By this time next week the political ads will stop. I am getting so tired of them. I already voted BTW. The negative, nasty ones bother me the most. I feel like they get more ugly every year. They tend to make me dislike the sponsoring candidate.
Time for Water Aerobics in a few minutes which will hopefully offset the wine dinner we are going to tonight. We were invited to sit with some other couples so it should be fun.
Mike saw his doctor and was prescribed Rybelsus because his weight is up (though apparently it is lower than it had been for years). Mike didn't ask for it and doesn't really want it but the doctor suggested he try it. It is one of those drugs for type 2 diabetes being used off-label for weight loss. As far as Mike knows he is not prediabetic so we wondered if insurance would cover it. The cost is about $160 for a month so insurance must be picking up the rest of the tab. Should be interesting to see if it makes a big difference.
Time to go to the pool. Have a winning Wednesday!

I was reading up on Keto and water gain and puffy ankles and learned it's a sign of both dehydration and low potassium (as that comes from fruits and veggies). So I drank a lot of water yesterday and took some potassium and dropped 1.2 pounds. Whew! Feels better.
We're in for a big weather change today. Tomorrow will be rain and maybe snow and a high of 45 and 27 at night. I'm weirdly looking forward to it. I love interesting weather! Then we'll be lucky to see 60 the next 10 days.
Yesterday's HOA meeting was interesting. The board members seem very smart and capable and it was interesting to hear the ins and outs of running a small neighborhood of 40 something lots and half the number of houses. One of the items was snow removal. Some years they don't need any and one year they got 21" at once. Exciting! Lots of discussion of the drought and what it means for the community well and potentially moving to a tiered water structure to penalize high usage. Sigh, that's what I get for moving from the west to the west. I'm well acquainted with penalizing water rates.
Today I am meeting the travertine guy for an estimate. Still so bummed they can't do it until I'm already moved in. Oh well.
More water and potassium today to see if I can get the rest of the puff to leave me.
But that's all I have... have a great day all!
You'll have to keep us posted Liz about Mike's experiences with pharmaceutical interventions for weight loss. Is it an oral medication, or an injectable? Our daughter is trying a diabetes med you inject, and she said it's not having much impact. She knows other people who said they got nauseous, or diarrhea, or the golden side effect, loss of appetite, but she feels nothing.
CC I never thought of Arizona as having such variable weather! I guess it's not all Phoenix. Snow is beautiful, initially, but it's a beauty I could set aside for the rest of my life. The price you pay for it's momentary pleasure is not worth it to me anymore. But if you haven't been paying that toll multiple times a year for decades, I get that it could be exciting.
I went to work today. I was frankly scared that I would be miserable. I wasn't, just tired. By the end of the day I was feeling achy, but then I got to go home and lie in my bed and now everything is better. I've cancelled just about everything in my life for the next 7 days or so. Work and rest are the only calendar items.
My weight continues to creep down. I'm eating when I'm hungry, and trying to make it count, nutrition wise. In order to up my protein, I have been enjoying about 12-14 ounces of Fair life Milk with one cookie as an evening snack. Seems so comforting when I'm sick. Sadly, all out of cookies and pretty low on milk tonight, so it will probably be yogurt for a snack. :)
Sorry you are so tired but glad that you are listening to your body as much as you can.
It is an oral medication. Should be interesting - it can cause the side affects you mention (hopefully just the loss of appetite and not the others).

So little to report here. One day leads to the next. Very much the same. Still loving my new job. (I wonder when I'll stop calling it "my new job"?)
I guess under the "new" heading could be my stupid across the trail neighbor had a bad day and complained about the dogs. I wouldn't mind (because I know they bark), but I hate the over dramatization of the situation and the fact that I can't call out her damn brat of a grandson for antagonizing my dogs.... She and her husband are just nasty, nasty people.
Ron is headed for surgery to fix another hernia he has let get ridiculously large. I have no compassion, nor any sympathy for him. It'll be another open surgery with mesh when it could have been a laparoscopic surgery throwing a few stitches. Hmph....
I managed Halloween with very little candy. Yay me. Yet, weight loss is not in my cards. I'm getting a little disgusted with myself for not doing more.
Looking forward to this weekend. Not much going on. That's kind of what I think I need.
Poor Ron. So many people put off needed procedures then end up having to deal with more than if they had faced them earlier.
Yes, nasty neighbors make it difficult. Justice does bark at the next door neighbors here, but he probably is more emphatic about it because of their frequently taunting cat. They don't seem to mind him though thank goodness.
