I am worried a bit about DD. She is pretty religious about checking in. I can't help but think that it is the post-pandemic management of illnesses which allowed this to happen with her. I wish they had seen her right away when she was reporting shortness of breath.
We lost our last bocce match yesterday and came in dead last amongst the teams with a record of 1-11, LOL. It was fun though and we met some great people so we will probably play in the winter league beginning in January.
I made chicken piccata last night for dinner and it came out great. Deceased DH used to make it a lot so I had never tried doing it. I used a NYT recipe - fairly easy and quick, though the recipe's estimate of 25 minutes was more like 45 for me LOL.
Thank goodness I know how to read insurance policies. I requested that the new rings be scheduled on my homeowners policy and it got royally screwed up. No wonder the premium for the addition seemed awfully low! They only added the wedding band, not the engagement ring though the wording from the appraisal has the appraisals for both rings run together. Sigh... What does someone not used to reading these things do? Find out only when there is a loss and they aren't covered?
We are going to the beach club shortly, then to Happy Hour this evening. Not sure about dinner plans.
Hopefully DD will check in today.
Have a fundamentally Good Friday!

You would think with as many people as are getting pulmonary embolisms these days they would run a D-Dimer blood test anytime someone complains about shortness of breath. Just shows how much noise you have to make to get taken seriously medically. I hope DD is doing well!
Yesterday was a very long day. I told you about the run up to meeting the propane guy and the logistical hurdles being 45 minutes away. Well, they never gave a pre-call and after calling the office twice, I thought, I need to just head over and hang out over there to wait. 4.5 hours of waiting in my car later, I got met the guy and got my account set up. Argh. as he was filling the tank, he said, Oh, there's a note here that I was supposed to call you 30 minutes ahead (which wouldn't have been enough time for me to get there). At least he was nice. There was a giant black widow spider in the hole with the gauges and fill. He said it was the biggest he's seen all season. Eek.
Anyway, all of that triggered a lot of munchies for me last night, but luckily I don't have any carbs in the house or I would have demolished them. As it stands, no gain on the scale.
Today I started in on switching accounts into my name for the new house. Snafu on the first one! I called the power company and they needed to run a soft credit check to set up the account (why I don't know, I just want to pay my bill), but I forgot I have credit freezes. So it rejected it. I thought, oh, let me unfreeze it and you can run it again! I did, she did, and running it twice threw up a red flag in her system and now I am required to send them a NOTARIZED identity verification form to complete my account! The expletives flew when I hung up with her. I've never heard of such a thing to set up service! Anyway, I got the rest of the accounts switched, so now I need to track down a notary. @#$*&.
So I'm doing that today and having dinner with my real estate agent/new friend. It's otherwise a lovely day here. So walking would be good too.
Sorry you are having moving snafus! It will be over soon though

Hi everyone, Yesterday got out of hand. I felt so sick, I left work early again. I thought well, maybe it's an adjustment to new meds, Eloquis must be kind of powerful to do what it does right? DH wanted me to take a Covid test. OMG it was positive!!! Seriously??!! I'm not super sick, but do have a fever, chills, congestion, and even more cough. I'd say a moderate case. So now I'm in phone tag hell talking with doctor's nurses about whether I should take Paxlovid.
Also, I had an ultra sound scheduled to check for deep vein thrombosis. I called the clinic, and they said it still needed to be done STAT, but they moved it to the hospital. I wore 2 masks, and the tech wore a mask and shield. Bless the health care workers willing to continue in the face of all this. No signs of any clots in my legs. It is looking more probable that the clots are a result of Tamoxifen.
Perhaps the good news out of bad news is that I no longer have a choice about whether to soldier on or not. Since I had a positive Covid test I have to stay out of school until Wednesday. So I will rest.
I'm sure I'll feel better in a few days.
A lot going on. Baby yourself! I am glad they were able to do the ultrasound. And yes, after all they have likely been through those health care workers should be applauded.

Did I mention BFF arrived last night? I am of course not doing any entertaining, but when I come out of my room, she wants to talk. Sigh. Luckily DH is home at noon to run interference. She is leaving Tuesday, and then coming back for the agreed upon 4 weeks and no more than 4 weeks mid November to Mid December.
