It looks like it will be another great Florida weather day. The fall days here are wonderful once the weather turns and the humidity drops. Strange how it seems to happen relatively suddenly.
This morning I have water aerobics, then I am not sure what I want to do. A piece of me wants to go to the beach, but I have a bench to put together for my porch and the house could use a bit of cleaning. For the latter I think I will get the iRobot going but not much else, LOL.
I am trying to curb my appetite for carbs and not doing too badly but I am certainly not eating at a level for weight loss.
Have a winsome Wednesday!

Still bouncing around the same weight, but I know I do that after I lose a bit. Food still good and I walked 3 miles.
This morning I had a fun chat with two of my friends on FaceTime. They are both coming to stay with me in early December! One from the UK, one from CA. So looking forward to it. My furniture comes Nov 10th, so we'll be able to stay at the new house.
Nothing planned today, just playing it by ear.
Hope you all have good ones!
Hi friends! Sorry I have been so MIA lately. I had my second Shingles vaccine last night so am down for the count today and have some time! I list about 10 lbs. but have stayed steady for weeks, not really trying to cut enough calories to lose right now.
My Dad is on hospice and probably has weeks to live. Even though he is 91 and has lived a good life, the waiting is emotionally draining and brings me back to Ben's last weeks. I've been making the 3 hour trek to visit him and Mom as often as I can.
On a positive note, I'm 99% sure that I'm going to retire at the end of the year. I convinced myself to do so when I thought I was 58 1/2 (only 1 1/2 years earlier than I had originally planned to retire) but then realized on Kevin's bday that we are only 57! I think if we cut back on unnecessary spending (my Botox, new clothes purchases that I don't need, and eating out all the time) that we should be fine. We will have to make those cut backs eventually so might as well start now!
I have not caught up on the goings on here so will have to back read some!
Love to you all!
I'm glad to see you here!!! But so sorry about your Dad. I totally understand those flashbacks. I felt them after my eldest DD died having struggled with cancer for 18 months and I was seeing other dear family members in their last weeks.
So bottom-line, you KNOW life is short and that you should enjoy every precious moment. So Kudos on your retirement plans. I retired earlier than expected to take care of Paul and wasn't sure I could afford it but all worked out. You will definitely figure it out and need to get out there kayaking!

Hi everyone, I saw the hematologist this morning. I have 3 blood clots, one in each lower lobe, and one in my upper right lobe. Serious business. They throw around words like morbidity. But, it appears I live to see another day, and probably some more after that. :) The bigger question they are asking now is how can we prevent this from happening again? Towards that aim, more blood tests, and, there will be ultra sound of my legs on Friday to look for any remnants of deep vein thrombosis type clots. And of course, blood thinners indefinitely.
Food, not thinking much about it. Will need to turn some energy towards this subject, as I would think now is a good time for some solid nutrition.
A lot to wrap your head around. I'm sure your physicians will figure it out. You have life to live!

A hard post to "like", but I am happy that you know why you have had shortness of breath. A good friend developed some blood clots after a surgery and they manifested in her lungs, too. She was hospitalized, so yours sound far less concerning than I might have expected. She was only on blood thinners for about a year. Some vaccines (including the Covid vaccine) can cause blood clots. So, it could be as simple as that and you'll be fine. Stay well and chin up!

That was the scary part for me, knowing I was walking around with something that had a really good chance of killing me without even knowing. Like having a live grenade in your back pocket you didn?t know about. I have not had any trouble with indefinite blood thinners. I will wish you the same! The good thing is they caught it and your body knows how to break them down. The anti-coagulants keep them steady and from growing, while your body gets to work. So glad you got yourself checked out!!
