We are just waiting for the dripping from the last shower to subside then will do our Justice walk. This afternoon we have a bocce make-up game, then Mike and I are playing nine holes of golf (yikes!). We shall see how that goes.
DD, I also hate closed toe shoes, but I love wool All-Birds. They are super comfortable, breath, and can be thrown in the wash. I bought "refurbished" ones for my last pair and they are just the same as new ones. My other alternative shoe which looks a bit more dressy are flats from Rothy's (also machine washable). But both are only available online.
We booked our flights home for Christmas yesterday (12/16 to 12/29). That's the shortest I have been home for the holidays and means it will be the first New Years spent in Florida. We have some friends staying 12/30 to 1/1 so we will celebrate with them. Mike also bought my Christmas present yesterday - a diamond engagement ring and wedding band. I had chosen the style and we had looked at options a couple of weeks ago. I have been wearing a silver ring with turquoise and opal inlay as a wedding ring which we got while traveling in Arizona.
Just waiting for the rain to stop though it seems to have picked up again. Have a terrific Tuesday!

A few decent eating days and my weight is down several water pounds. I also rook a 3 mile walk yesterday which felt great. It was a beautiful sunset and I saw another tarantula.
It's another beautiful day here. Not sure yet what I'll do with it. Part of it will be spent looking into QuickBooks for nonprofits. Not fun, but necessary. I should also run a vacuum through here. And another walk or maybe a hike later. And some phone calls for doctors appointments - canceling ones in CA, making ones here.
I think that's it - boring update!
I find that the egg section is also half empty or worse a lot of the time lately. A transportation issue?

I read that avian flu may be part of the problem?

Greetings all
We are back and boy is it good to sleep in my own bed even if there are also three dogs and one DH. The dogs were glad to see us - even old Chip got excited once he noticed us. Our flights were on time and the only hard part was walking 80 gates away in Denver. People pushing wheel chairs offered to help me (ie I look really decrepit) but I said no and walked it. Fortunately I was traveling light. Once we got here I told DH to go get the car while I wrestled the bags. There is a big line to get out of the parking lot and they are very slow so I wanted to him to get ahead and I managed to drag our two bags 50 feet to the curb. Small town airport.
We had lots of fun with the events and my friends. Glad we went. Beautiful fall weather. But I am not up for much traveling anytime soon. But since I live in paradise, why?
Just went to the store and eggs were maybe $6. Everything food wise is up. And I think there is some bird flu goin around. I had two small canvas bags for $90. Good thing I don't eat much.
Out house sitter deal worked out great. Dogs love her and she is reliable.
Scrabble today where I got my azzz handed to me three games. Must brush up. Then I checked in at the studio and finally the grocery. I perused the frozen prepared foods and found some empanadas that looked good. Also steak and my beloved avocados.
Oh ick CC you actually saw a tarantula in the wild! Spiders are my least favorite thing. My most horrifying movie as a kid was one where there were these gigantic spiders.
Not much else. Must attend to some gallery duties and glue some wine stoppers to sell.
Peps were you at Montgomery county? My friend Alex who has Bat girl is all excited because she has found another BT from a reputable breeder who is monorchid so no go for shows but a lucky pet. I got constant texts through out my trip but I am glad.
Take care all.

ps. six flights of stairs is a deal breaker for me. I would have slept in the lobby.
Weather change on it's way here, the winds are shifting, and today they brought us a parting gift of a windy, but 80 degree day, and a fire drill at school. If you're going to empty a building of almost 2,000 people, you try to choose a nice day.
To celebrate 80 degrees, DH and I had what might be our last dinner out on a restaurant patio for the season. (Although you never know!).
Tomorrow is conferences again, so working until 7pm. Thursday, packing for Chicago.
