Thank you for your kind comments yesterday. Yes, memories are wonderful. As is usual one of Elise's best friends touched base yesterday with an update on her two girls. One is in college now (she was 2 when Elise died), and the other (Elise's godchild, though the ceremony was posthumous) is the head drum major in the band at her high school at age 17. I appreciate that Elise's friend has always tried to keep Elise's memory alive by sharing stories and pictures with her girls as they grew up. They have had a lot of loss in their family as the husband lost a sister when she was 5, and one of his nieces who they were very close to died last year in her early 20's of cancer. So sad, but life is sure full of ups and downs, isn't it? Which is why we do need to remember to live life to its fullest because you never know what tomorrow may bring.
DD arrived on-time yesterday and we had a good afternoon and evening. Today we are going to the beach club, the driving range, then somewhere for dinner. I believe we are going to fit in all the things she wanted to do on her short stay while she is here.
And DS is off to Ireland tonight for a week with his cousin and her husband. He has been there for 1 day previously so this is his first real trip. They have an ambitious schedule so I hope they don't end up with too much packed in.
Time to get cleaned up a bit after our morning walk. Have a thoughtful Tuesday!

I hope DS has the time of his life in Ireland! They're young, they can take an ambitious schedule. Probably learned it from his Mama, who is no slouch in trip planning.
I am tired, and probably sick. I took a Covid test last night, just to be sure, and it was negative. DH got his Omicron booster, and again had a strong reaction, fever, headache, body aches. He must be reacting to something in the Moderna serum, because he got this sick with every booster, but not with actual Omicron Covid. As a result though, he kept waking me up all night, so it made for a very, very long day. I'm going to do nothing but rest now that I'm home, as tomorrow is evening conferences, meaning a 12 hour day. Boo.
I think conferences are obsolete nowadays with all the technology we have, or at least for high school. Parents can see grades as soon as they are entered, can look at our portal calendars to see what we're working on, and even open links to the textbooks and assignments etc. They can reach us easily by email. By the number of open spots I have, I think parents agree. While I don't want every slot filled, a mostly empty schedule means a long, boring night.
