Another decent weather day coming up. We went to the beach club yesterday but stayed in for dinner. Usually we go out on Saturday but were too tired after staying up late Friday night talking until after 1 am which is quite unusual.

DD arrives tomorrow mid-day, staying until Thursday. We are looking forward to her visit. We may end up having to play a make-up Bocce game while she is here if we can get enough members of the team together (we need 4). The other members of the team never seem to respond to emails sent out by Mike (our captain). So frustrating since we already had to forfeit the first game since 4 of the team members never showed that day (2 had to drop out due to illness and 2 never responded to emails sent by the Bocce league president). We still have the latter 2 on the team and two newer people.

Anyway, today is laundry, the usual long Justice walk, then going to the driving range. Maybe some beach in the afternoon.

Have a super Sunday!

I guess the phrase the calm after the storm isn't just a cliche. And, how are DD's boche ball skills? :) She may be subbing. :)

The wedding was beautiful. The bride's aesthetic was New Orleans , jazzy, old world night club, velvet table clothes, dark reds, cremes, beiges, dark green, very elegant. Trumpet and sax players greeting us before the ceremony, along with champagne. The couple really enjoys a dirty martini, so instead of a unity candle, they had a table set up and they mixed a martini and served it to each other as part of the ceremony. Loved it! The food was fantastic, the band was outstanding. We talked to the lead singer to find out where else they play so we can go hear them later on this year. There was a sort of secret basement room in the venue and they set up as a speak easy where you could get an espresso martini towards the end of the evening, adding to the themed fun. Finally, the after party in a suite in an Art Deco hotel in downtown Minneapolis. We got home at 2:45 am. I am exhausted. I hope I can fall asleep this afternoon for a nap, because I am going to need to catch up on some sleep.

So besides reading the paper and resting, not much else planned for today. I weighed myself, and no real damage done, at least not showing up yet. :) Hopefully the dancing conteracted the champagne!

Greetings all

Hey everyone look out the window! Pigs are flying! Its because our football team won last night. Amazing.

Today was a day of boring errands. Three stores for 6 things; not available at one place. Then washing all the guest bedroom linens for the house sitter. Its a foggy day so that seems to drain energy. For me sometimes overeating is an attempt to replenish energy,. Does not work however.

Hmmm Liz, AWOL from Bocce ball. Spoil sports.

DD glad the wedding was fun. sounds like a wonderful event. Speak easy vibe. Super fun.

Not much else. At least the chili is made. Dogs are fed. Life is good.

Lazy day! I read a Wall Street Journal article about losing weight. Their suggestions were based on psychology studies. It was pretty simple advice. 1) Sleep is really important. The less good sleep a person gets, the more they eat. Maybe to DianeS' point about trying to stockpile energy? 2) Eat with others. People are more likely to eat a rounded meal with veggies when cooking with/for others. Even better if you have similar health goals. 3) Set rules for yourself. Not a lot, but maybe 2. It takes the decision-making out of the picture if you set rules like "I don't eat fast food" or "I only have a glass of wine on the weekends". Mine should be "No snacking" and "No empty carbs".

Otherwise, I'm procrastinating doing some board stuff and spending more time thinking about exercising than actually moving.

Hope you all are well!

Those points make sense. Sticking to them is not necessarily easy though (as we all know).
