VSG Maintenance Group

I just took Justice out for his first time of the day and got eaten alive by mosquitoes. Dawn, muggy/warm air, lots of standing water, and no wind combine for ideal bug conditions apparently.
Yesterday we did hear a good band at the outdoor venue, then went out for dinner at our favorite spot on the ocean. Wedge salad for dinner - yummy!
Today I am not sure what we will do other than take a long walk with the dog (after applying a lot of bug spray), and doing laundry.
Time to scratch my unbelievably itchy legs.
Have a super Sunday!

Dog show went well yesterday. Blitz got a group 1 in Owner Handled Terrier Group. I napped twice yesterday - so luxurious and indulgent! Up before dawn today to get dogs ready for 8 am ring times. Blitz went Best of Breed and Dolly was winners and best opposite sex to best of breed. Small entry, so not significant wins, but I'm still pleased. Blitz and I will be off to groups at 1:15.
Food yesterday was less than perfect, but not a lot. I ate very little during the day, but what I ate wasn't high on the nutritional scale. Dinner was a salad, 1 piece of hot baked french bread with butter, 1/2 baked potato and a lamb chop. DELICIOUS meal! Of course, plenty of left overs. Blitz will have delicious lamb chop treats for the groups this afternoon.
It's getting hot already and I"m feeling ready for a nap! LOL! Maybe afternoon naps are my new thing. I've always liked them, but maybe they are becoming a necessity. You know, we old men need our naps.....
Though I would love to nap at times, I essentially never do because I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

Sun, rain, clouds, wind, cool, we've seen it all today! My dad and his wife do Sunday breakfasts with blueberry pancakes and bacon, so we had that this morning. I drove to mail my next rent payment and stopped by the neighbors' house who are away to let their dog out for a potty break.
Otherwise, relaxing, doing crosswords, took a family walk, and reading. A good day!
It sounds like a wonderful day!

Greetings Peeps and Peps
Ick Liz, I hate mosquitoes more than anything! Its why I did little outdoorsy stuff in the midwest. They were everywhere. Its kind of too cold for them here. Lucky me.
Yay Peps on the dog show wins. And show napping sounds great. Dog shows are exhausting. I always love seeing the "set ups" of the big time handlers and dog show people. Travel in style.
I got some stuff picked up and trashed today. Not enough but a start. I don't know how we produce so much recycling. So much cardboard and containers. Its not even soda cans since we don't do that much.
So the gallery by laws controversy is continuing. Once in ten years someone's art piece was removed by a few people because they thought it was controversial and not suitable for the gallery. So now there is all this scurrying about trying to come up with definitions of this and how to do handle this. Again, once in 10 years. I wrote up what I thought.
Dinner tonight will likely be frozen burritos. Easy prep.
Studio buddy just paid a visit. Boy can she talk. My ears are bleeding.
Later.
Diane S
Your ears were bleeding! I used to say that talking with my brother (who can be nonstop) made me feel like my ears were going to fall off.

Hi, back from Madison. Mission accomplished, DS moved to new apartment, but OMG. Arrived Friday night, he proudly tells me he had already packed and moved 5 boxes. I look around, and there is so much stuff still. Where are the other boxes to pack, oh here, I have another 5. Me 5? That will pack up your kitchen and part of the hall closet. Really, I don't have that much? I think he truly thought the rest of his stuff was going in 5 boxes. So, Saturday, while he and his Dad spent the day moving all the big furniture in the rental van, I packed up 17 newly purchased boxes from u haul by myself. Argh. And when you're packing up your son's stuff, you run across stuff you'd really rather not see, but just toss in a box, and put it out of your mind.
The hotel DH reserved, which we stayed in previously, fell on hard times, very hard times. It went from being no frills, but clean, to a drug infested pit. I felt like the desk clerk was telling us you don't want to stay here, but I was confused. We'd already paid through Orbitz, so I guess I was starting to feel uneasy, but wasn't ready to bail yet. We were between Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Suites, in a very reliable part of the city, but woo eee, what a scene. When we got to the room, we passef stoned people wandering around (why in these situations is there always a guy with no shirt?) enter the filthiest guest room ever, cigarette holes burned in everything, hair on the pillows, smoke detectors hanging from the wall by one wire. And the smel!! We ended up staying with DS instead. In the middle of a move, not too comfortable either, but at least safe and clean. Moral of the story, always check the reviews if you haven't stayed recently...
Oh, and I forgot my medications at home, which added to my feeling stressed. I kept reminding me that nothing bad was going to happen from missing 2 days of any of them.
Anyhow, home now, exhausted, but I will recover. Lots going on this week at work, and a big family friend's wedding this weekend. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed, just need to breath.
Peps, I'm really not sure what the long term plan is for Topiramate and me yet. I think before my PA and I discuss how long (forever?) and what dose, we have to see if it is effective for me, and what side effects I will experience. In my heart, I would hope it would not be for a lifetime. Not because I am opposed to a pharmaceutical intervention, but because I hope there are better drugs on the horizon. A girl can dream. :)
What a nightmare! I bet when you got home you totally felt like Dorothy ("There's no place like home").
