We need another East Coast person to start these sometimes!

The beach was unbelievably beautiful yesterday with a nice breeze and warm water. As usual I don't go in fully because the wave action makes me nervous but it is still wonderful to be there. Today will be a repeat though we will eat lunch at the Beach Club.

Not much else planned. We agreed that somewhat major efforts like reorganizing the big closet and installing baskets, etc. on the walls should wait until a rainy day. There will be enough of them before Florida cools down a bit. Speaking of which today the high is forecasted to be 87 degrees with humidity of 82%. A far cry from the humidity level I complained about in Arizona of 10% in February!

I am trying to eat wise and am walking a lot, but that's only good for holding my weight at its current level. To reduce the pudgy feeling, I need to do more. Which is why a little pharmaceutical help would be great.

Time to get ready for the beach (after I cool down enough post-walk). Have a tremendous Tuesday!

I am home today with a doozy of a chest cold/sore throat. This is the type of hazard that comes with the profession. I don't feel horrible, but am a little wiped out and have absolutely no voice. I called the dentist to cancel my cleaning and the office manager started laughing when she heard me talk! I've known her for years, so I know it was good natured, but it proved to me that I really do sound horrible!

Watching Cook's Country on TV. They are doing "hidden American sandwiches". DD, have you ever heard of a St. Paul Sandwich? It's an egg fooyung patty with shredded lettuce, tomatoes and pickles with mayo on white bread.

I'm going to weigh in on the pharmaceutical help for weight loss. I am not opposed to it. If you remember I did use a drug to help control binge eating disorder. I found that I needed a higher and higher dose for the med to be effective and it did do a number on my blood pressure so I stopped taking it. Overall, it helped me drop just under 10 pounds. I wonder now at this point in my personal journey, if for me that trying a drug was a way to not deal with my disordered eating. Just my musings....

Well, I'm off to steam in a hot shower and see if that helps break up some of this yuck in my chest!

I have not heard of a St. Paul sandwich! Our local claim to fame sandwich is the Juicy Lucy or Jucy Lucy depending on whether you are at the 5 -8 Club or Matt's Bar. These two venues both claim to be the orginators of this sandwich. Its a cheeseburger, but the cheese is inside the patty, and oozes out in molten goodness when you bite in (carefully). That, and tator tot hot dish are about the most Minnesota cuisine I can think of.

It's hotter here than Florida, 92 degrees! Less humidity though. We had a fire drill right before my prep (which is at the end of the day) and I so wanted to just walk to my car and drive to the beach. Won't be this hot again for awhile.

I really should get down my blood pressure monitor to make sure it's still in a good range, but I still feel so much better since I decided to take a break my my BP meds.

This is a nice season in my life, my job is manageable this fall, I am not putting out a lot of fires in my professional or personal life. Last fall was a dumpster fire at work. I am grateful for this interlude.

I already requested my personal days (I get 3 a year) for February (only 5 people can use personal days at a time, and I wanted to use mine with President's Day Weekend, much in demand). It will help as the weather gets cold to know there will be an escape.

We're making plans for our trip to NYC. Our first night we will see Six with the friends we are traveling with. Musical about Henry VIII and his wives. Looks amazing.

Greetings all

thank you Liz for faithfully starting our thread each day. Its important to all of us. And glad you got into the ocean. Sounds good (but not around here).

Scrabble today and I defeated the big kahuna! Lucky draws for me. Then on to the studio to glaze a bit and then home to meet a friend. I was *****ing to her about having to shop for clothes to wear to DH reunion and she said she had lots of nice ones and would bring them by. So she did. They look great - she has excellent taste and only buys really good stuff - but may be too big. Loose tunics. Maybe over a turtle neck. She said they might need ironing. Thats NOT going to happen.

Zoom meeting tonight for the gallery. Always much ado about nothing. But at least on a zoom I can sit here at home, drink wine, and play games on my phone and not be detected. Gallery sales have been great and we are again going to be in the position of making too much money. Enter the tax lawyer (me) to find legal ways to avoid taxable income. I also have to write up my comments on the revised by laws (most of which will be "phooey") but oh well.

DD glad this school year is going well for you. Good kids must make a huge difference.

Peps so sorry you are sick. Hope its not the new covid. Probably not. Colds are still out there though since covid I have not had even one. Any way, chicken soup for you - preferably with won tons.

A box came and I think its my new iPhone. DH is practically standing over me to get me to open the box. I don't care that much. He also has the iPhone 14 so why is he so interested in mine> Probably because its lavender.

My college 50 year reunion is coming up and I am really enjoying the on line musings about the first days and professors. Remembering people I had forgotten about.

Steak tonight. Thats about it.

If you find something of your friends you want to wear, send it out for dry cleaning, they'll do the ironing for you :)
