Good morning! I hope everyone is starting off the day well. I've been lazing in bed for awhile, but time to get up.
It should be a beautiful day here, in the mid 70s and sunshine. Summer temps are predicted later this week. I organized my clothes yesterday, and purged some things. But with the weather jumping back and forth between seasons, I need to keep some of the summer clothes handy.
Time for tea and paper. Have a splendid Sunday!

Short night's sleep. I was reading and trying not to think about the invoice the previous owners had the repair guy send me for fixing a fountain that I didn't ask them to fix - $525. They are the cheapest people on the planet! I have a call with the real estate agent to discuss later today as I expect an invoice for the fence I also didn't ask them to fix...
I had a nice frist full day back yesterday. It was beautiful! And included a trip to the grocery store, reading in a lounge chair outside and cooking a very yummy shrimp and veggie stirfry. Today we all went for a 2 mile walk and had blueberry pancakes and bacon for breakfast.
Tonight we have friends coming for dinner. It's supposed to rain the next three days, but I don't mind! My check engine light in my MI car also came on, so I have to deal with that on Monday. If it had a gas cap, I'd readjust it, but it is the kind with a kind of trap door rather than a cap. But maybe fumes gathered in there after being parked so long? Regardless, I think it needs an oil change. Adulting is no fun.
I think the wife/previous owner is trying to play nice with me. She sent this picture taken from the kitchen window this morning...
It's a beautiful place...
It is a gorgeous place!!! But truly they have no right to initiate repairs that they expect you to pay for without your permission ahead of time. They don't seem to get that they are TENANTS!

I am getting brave like CC: I am putting an offer in on the cottage! Over asking, cash, closing anytime and my broker feels it is a solid offer. There will be multiple bids. Mine will go in officially tomorrow as my broker doesn't want my offer to be leveraged by the listing broker. Really cute, solidly built and well-maintained little place. I think I would essentially break even with rental income against expenses with 3+ weeks of my personal use. It is TINY though, so we would never stay more than a week or 2 at the most at a time.
And I have started packing for Florida - two more days, yikes! I can still wear most clothing but some weight loss really would be best to fit better. I have been ostriching and haven't weighed since June...
I hope you had (are having) a super Sunday!

Greetings all
Yesterday turned out kind of hectic starting with the step in the dog poop. I worked at the gallery and had visitors all day long. One friend was in looking around and another showed up. These two hate each other. I thought of meeting my one friend at the door and warning her but naughty me wanted to see what happened. They were cordial and fine but it amused me. Then some lady came in and bought 10 greeting cards by 10 different artists and also picked up their business cards and had them all spread out trying to match them up plus cards of those who had no greeting cards. It was like abbott and Costello trying to explain that not all artists have a business card and not all make greeting cards. Then she could not find her money and was all flustered. Sweet lady but very needy. Then at 5 minutes before closing a lady came in and wanted to buy 4 of these hanging fairy items. Fragile and hard to wrap not to mention hard for this old short lady to reach. Then studio buddy wanted to come and go to the winery but I told her to come by the house to watch our football team. Had to wait because fence lady was out in the yard and DH making it forever more complex. Studio buddy is a wigged out on personal stuff and so I had to baby sit her and DH and 3 wild dogs plus fence fixer. Geez. Must be what its like to teach kindergarten. On top of that, our team lost in a heartbreaker and we were all grumpy. Oh well.
And furthermore, DH put out a couple of mouse traps. No mice in traps this morning but there are a couple of mouse turds right next to one. Smart aleck mouse.
Foggy today and I will get some studio time in.
Liz good deal on the cottage. These days real estate is always a good deal.
CC glad you are having fun in MI. And you are right to dump those repair issues on the realtor. They make a big commission so they should do that.
DD enjoy a snooze day.
Chill out everyone. I am going to take my own advice.
Diane S
I think the mouse may be taunting you...
