Second night without much sleep. There is no excuse except travel anticipation as the room has been super comfortable. CC, I hope the rest of your travels went well and you slept good last night in Michigan!
Yesterday we had a nice drive around Arcadia National Park and a good walk around the top of Cadillac Mountain. No hiking yesterday. We ate a very small meal early and went to bed but as mentioned previously I didn't sleep much. I woke by 5 and got out of bed to shower by 6:30 because I was just lying there.
Long drive today! 3.25 hours to get to Portland where we pick up Justice, then another 3.25 hours to home. Then Mike is leaving shortly thereafter to drive another 3.5 hours to New York to babysit for his grandchildren for 3 nights while his daughter travels on business. Hopefully after all this, sleep comes easily tonight.
Of course now I am worried about DD who was supposed to go to my Cape house this weekend. She has been on a new epilepsy drug which is causing a lot of dizziness so she may not be able to drive. I might be driving to see her either tomorrow or Monday evening.
Time to find coffee! It is 7:30, and I'd like to be leaving here by 8:30.
Have a super Saturday!

Liz, no sleep again? How frustrating. You would think after all the hiking you would have deep, repairative sleep. Sorry to hear about your daughter's meds. I hope it gets straightened out. It's impossible not to worry about our kids.
Diane, a mouse! Perhaps one that has just made its way into the house. It seems to me if there are mice, you see signs, but you don't actually see mice, they know how to navigate unseen. There are some new plastic traps that are very effective baited with peanut butter. We had a mouse one fall, and it ran right past our cat, who did not even turn his head. Freeloader feline :) he had the chance to earn his keep...
I slept until 8:30 am and it was glorious. It's cool and overcast today. The bedroom window is open, and the current breeze is in the 60s. Forecast is low 70s. My plan for today is to shop for a dress for a wedding coming up in October, since I never made it to Collards when I was in Charleston. I have things I could wear, but none of them make me feel great. It's so hard to find things with my weight gain, so many stores closed and supply chain issues etc. I may actually have to go to the Mall of America. Yikes!

I'm sorry your sleep didn't come, Liz! I slept like a dead person and woke up at 7:30 not knowing where I was. And then promptly went back to sleep only to wake at 9:30 to my phone ringing. Who calls at 9:30 on a Saturday? Rude. PS, your hike looked beautiful! Carrying a snack on more strenuous ones is a smart idea.
Shirley, I'm so sorry about Bella. No matter the cir****tances or age, losing someone you love (including pets) is terrible. So glad you and your sons got one more cuddle with her.
DD, good luck on finding a dress! I despise clothes shopping, but it's so important to feel good in what you're wearing...
Today I need to go to the grocery store for provisions and to find something to make for dinner tonight. My dad's wife is so tired of coming up with stuff to make she said she was thrilled to have someone come help with the cooking.
It's a beautiful morning here and the first time I've been able to sleep with windows open since I moved to AZ. Love it!
I liked clothes shopping a lot more when I was a size 10. I found one dress that was awesome, very comfortable, as flattering as can be expected, but its not a fancy party dress. It works for the theater and other places like that. I bought it, because its the first dress I've tried on in awhile where I thought, this is cute. So now I have 3 dresses that just aren't quite right. Sigh.
Never a good start!
