It is rainy and gloomy right now and will be for most of our drive though it should dry up by this afternoon.
We are leaving in a bit over an hour to drive to meet a friend of mine for lun*****ennebunk ME, then onto Portland for tonight. The husband is the first friend of deceased DH I met. They were college roommates, then went to law school together. I haven't seen them since the funeral though I communicate with his 4 daughters. As Mike puts it, he is getting yet another sniff test, LOL.
On another note, SIL with stage 4 lung cancer is starting traditional Chemo at the end of the month. She can't tolerate targeted therapy or immunotherapy any longer. We fear what this means as to how much longer she will be here. She looks good, though she has a fracture in her spine and rib. She is having an extensive MRI today to determine the cause which could be osteoporosis or could be the cancer. Very worrisome.
Off to take a shower and get ready to go. Have a thankful Tuesday.

It's warm again today and I managed to get sunburned yesterday so no pool for me today. I'll keep on with my book. I also ran an errand this morning and texted with a new hair person about my appointment tomorrow. I saw her post on FB and her credentials/experience looked great and she uses my brand of hair color, which is a plus as matching it with other brands so often doesn't work out. She is edgier than hair people I've gone to in the past, but maybe she can bring me into the 20s a little. I'll repot back tomorrow.
I think that's it for me...
Good Morning All - Hump Day here already - Yay.....
Had a lovely greeting when I picked up my grandbabies from Child Care yesterday. It so nice when they see you and run up for a hug then introduce me to their teachers. Makes my heart happy. Brought them home and gave them an early tea, bath, teeth and stories. Ashton had seconds of the pasta bake I made. I expect having another growth spurt. They facetimed their Papa too.
I have a quieter night tonight. Hoping to get out in the veggie patch and do some weeding etc. We are expecting 20 degrees today so I will make the most of it before the rain returns tommorrow.
Thats really all I have. I need to address my gain but Im going to keep my head in the sand for a little longer.........
Liz- Hope the MRI goes ok for your SIL. Thinking of you all
Cec - Enjoy your book and aloe is great for sunburn

Liz, I am so sorry to hear your SIL is progressing to chemo. It's easy to tell she is very dear to you, and the news is distressing. Cancer is a thief.
CC, while sunburns are probably not good, you did probably top off the vitamin D tank!
I'm on the porch, the afternoon sun is heating up some leaves that got blown off during a storm, and it smells like fall. Intoxicating, there is no other fragrance like it.
Everything went very well today. No emergency phone calls to parents, or referral to the counselor etc. My students were quiet and polite. A good way to start. I'm sure they will have more to say as the days go on. So one day down, less than 200 to go. :)
I stocked up my little fridge in my classroom with foods that are at least nutritious (yogurt, cheese, chili, fruit). My deal with myself for the moment is no calorie restriction, as long as I'm choosing something that nourishs.
Our fridge may be done for... Sad, not sad. I want a new one, but not this week (or month). Sometimes the universe decides for you ...
I have a mini fridge and a microwave behind my desk, left over from my daughter's dorm life. Some school districts don't allow, or ask teachers who want one to pay $ for electricity. Mine doesn't ask for $, but I would if asked. Its so convenient, and also no worries about lunch bandits when using the communal fridge in the staff lunchroom.
