Mixed health bag yesterday. I took a long walk, but I also gorged on Cheetos. I was listening to a podcast where they were talking about them endlessly and the power of suggestion took over, darn it. I stopped part way through the bag, but then one of my friends called with some terrible news that has long reaching bad impacts on her family and no good answers to fix it, and I polished off the rest of the bag. Argh.

No plans for today. How about you?

Hmm - my reply got eaten.

My youngest DD used to be the Cheeto queen LOL. Sorry for your friend's tough news.

I ended up yesterday in better spirits after leftovers from the meal DS cooked on Thursday (pot roast on yummy wine sauce), then a fire in the pit out back.

Today we walked Justice on the sand bars, did 2 loads of laundry and are currently on the beach again. Tonight is "date" night so we are going out relatively early to a place on the harbor. We time it to be there just after happy hour so we can get a seat to eat at the bar. Since we are out early we will probably do another fire in the pit tonight.

Time is winding down for us at Mike's outer Cape house as we go to mine on Monday morning. We need to do some preparation for Florida on Monday and pack for 4 days in Maine next week. We are celebrating Mike's birthday by going to Portland for a night, then 3 days in Bar Harbor.

Have a sunny Saturday!

Feeling much the same as you today on the food front. I didn't over eat "junk food" per se, but went out for both lunch and dinner and I did have TWO servings of ice cream yesterday... Basically, my eating disorder kicked in due to some strong stressors at home. Interesting how that little devil of a disorder is always there in the parking lot doing push ups waiting for an invitation to come on in and join the party! Talked with the NUT about it yesterday afternoon. And while I don't have answers, I do have some strategies I can use....

Retail needs to take a chill pill! We've got Pumpkin Spice, Halloween, and Christmas Kitsch up at Costco. It's freakin' Labor Day people and 100+ degrees. Put your fall and winter **** away and let's have some Summer Blow Out sales! Just had to get that off my chest. LOL

I have puppy ears to glue and a Norwich to groom today. Must check in on BFF later, too. He's "off" because his almost 13 year old dog is acting like an old lady and has ongoing loose poop. He's a worrier and her age and health is worrying him. He actually suffers from major depressive bouts (even on meds). After almost 40 years of friendship, I know this about him, so it's okay. If it gets to be too much I step back emotionally and let him work through what he needs to work through. It's sad to watch, so if I can guide him to a better perspective before the major depression sets in, it's a win win for us both!

I think I may see about getting a massage today. My shoulders are super tight from working out this week and breaking up some of the lactic acid would be beneficial.

Cheers!

What is INFORMED MAIL? Someone else just sent me an email about a letter that may arrive today because it was in her "Informed Mail".

You can sign up for Informed Delivery on USPS.com. They send you pictures of the envelopes coming in your mail each day. Nice when you're expecting something. They also track packages being sent via USPS. It's free.

Hi everyone! Nice to see some posts as I log in. CC those orange dusted treats are the devil. Think of the hours and hours very smart food chemists put into creating a taste profile. Its amazing we're not all covered in orange dust and Cheetos or Doritos crumbs at all times!

Liz glad to hear the day switched up for you. I love bonfires during the fall. We haven't had one at home yet this season, and there are weeds growing in the fire pit!

Peps, hope the stress at home resolves. Glad you have your nutritionist/therapist to help you reflect.

Last night we met some college friends for dinner on a patio with live music. So much fun! These friends moved out of state for work shortly after we got married, but have now moved back to Minnesota.

Off to a bridal shower, weather here is amazing. Yesterday was 87, great for the beach, today the wind has shifted, its sunny, fresh and high 70s.
