Feels weird writing September 2. Where did the time go this year?

Slept well again last night. Maybe the anxiety is waning? It's warm here, but tolerable. Maybe I'm adapting. I went swimming yesterday and sat on a lounge chair for a while. Who knew that 97 was okay when you're in a wet bathing suit?

I'm having more/different issues with my mail. I had a check returned to my insurance company when the address was correct and the item was on my Informed Delivery email from the post office. Yesterday, two more pieces of mail (including another check from the same insurance company) were shown to be delivered on the ID email and weren't. I've gotten several other things from both companies and I can see a picture of the envelopes with the correct address. So freaking frustrating. The post office is awful!!

I have no plans for today. Maybe some tidying and making a list for what to take to MI.

What's happening in your worlds?

Good morning everyone! A non contracted day, so no obligation to go into the building. Before I open my laptop to put in some volunteer hours, we're going to head to one of the Minneapolis beaches. Forecast is 90, but it's partly cloudy right now, so not sure it can get that warm.

A swim when it's sunny and 97 is just about one of my favorite things ever CC! Enjoy.

Tomorrow, I'm going to a bridal shower, and Sunday we might go to the Minnesota State Fair. We'll see. I only want to go if we can commit to getting up and leaving early, so we can arrive ahead of the crowds.

Time to pack up the beach bag and cooler!

Some mail has a do not forward stamped on it so even though you see it in Informed Delivery it doesn't go to you. Credit cards are an example so possibly these checks are the same? We have been caught with this problem and usually have to wait for the sending company to recognize it was returned and have them send it direct to the new address. Mike spend 3 months getting a replacement credit card last summer that was lost in Aruba in this situation. His billing address is Florida so the credit card company kept trying to send it there and they kept getting g it back even though he told them to send it north. Finally he got someone smart enough to figure out how to get the address correct. Good luck!

BTW, I am still waiting for a refund from the water on my Florida house that I closed on 5/3 (4 months ago). This week the water company said they sent it to the title company who said they sent it to me last week. Still waiting...

These are not forwarded. Just mailed directly to my new address and being returned.

Today we are getting a respite from the heat before the holiday weekend during which temperatures are forecast to soar to 108!

Ironically, the state officials and Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) are BEGGING people to lay off the AC, running appliances, and charging electric vehicles between 4pm and 9pm and to unplug all appliances that are not being used during the heat wave just days after CA signed into law that beginning in 2035 the only NEW automobiles allowed to be sold in California will be electric! In CA we don't have the infrastructure to meet the electricity demand we have now. There are no developed plans to create an infrastructure that will meet the demands of an electric vehicle dominated state either. UGH.... Politicians and their illogic! IDIOTS....

Workouts have been great this week. I have been feeling super strong. I even worked out in 100 degree heat yesterday for 30 minutes before moving inside to finish my workout.

Been feeling a little stressed and pissy about things at home, so I have indulged myself in some stress eating of sweets. Naturally, the inflammation follows the sugar and I'm up a couple of pounds. But at least I know what's up and why I'm doing it..... Huge plus in my book.

And while I am feeling really good about myself, how I'm eating, etc.... I do still think of revising my VSG to the Turbo Sleeve (or SIPS). However, I need to make a concerted weight loss effort before pursuing that route.

Today is a short day. My only class today ends at 11 am. Then I'm free until Tuesday, except for planning for next week's lessons. I'm going to take myself out for lunch and then get a haircut at 1pm.

Shirl, hope you are enjoying your vacation with John and had a lovely self care day yesterday! Liz, I don't know how you maintain your schedule. CC, glad the anxiety is waning!!!!! DD, enjoy your last free day before the school year starts. I can't believe I'm finishing week 4 already!

Fab Friday to all!

I'm in a bit of a down mood today but don't know why. I am trying to get rid of it by visiting the beach while Mike plays golf. He won't get home until 6:30 or 7 so I may do some errands later if feeling more energetic.

We drove to my home (an hour away) for a dinner cooked by DS. Great meal but "visiting" there made me feel more like my home is not mine yet DS keeps talking about me keeping it for a couple more years so he can buy it from me. I find this conversation depressing as I am not sure I have the energy to wait nor do I think he will be able to afford it. And in the meantime I don't like feeling that it isn't mine even though I am paying the costs for it. Unfortunately I know DS enough to know that he won't understand any of this.

Probably leftovers from dinner last night tonight, so right now at the beach is likely the highlight of the day.

Have a fruitful Friday!

Feeling like a guest in your own home that you foot the bill for is a terrible feeling! And to look ahead and know the only way out involves confrontations with DS would also be such a downer. Argh. I'm sorry.
