Had the Hibachi dinner out for DS#3. He also requested his "last meal" which will be on Wednesday night - meatballs in mushroom gravy over rice. Talk about comfort food! It is tasty!
I didn't think I would get sad about DS going off to college but have been feeling a bit melancholy and wouldn't be surprised if I shed a few tears. Hopefully not to many around him and hope even more not around his roommate! It will feel odd to not have any "kids" in the house. You guys have been through a lot with me while I have been parenting my 3 young men. I know my job isn't done, I guess it never really is until the roles are reversed like they are becoming for me and my parents.
Time for bed! My 4:30 am alarm for work comes much too quickly!
It is sad when they go off to school and the house feels empty without their noise, commotion and mess. But after a bit you start to appreciate that the house stays untouched when you go out and return, that you don't have to plan meals around their schedules, and that you and DH can have lots of alone time.
