I slept well last night so am less tired but apparently I pulled something in my back yesterday so I could only sleep in about 2 positions and sitting is difficult this mornings. The aches and pains of being older...
Today is a low-key beach day after we walk with Justice this morning. Mike wants to go shopping today but I'd rather defer it to tomorrow because it is always busy at the store on Mondays.
Have a munificent Monday!

Yesterday was a good health day. I ate healthy food with lots of veggies in good quantities and went for another evening hike (2.75 miles). I talked with loads of friends. Read a book. Colored my roots. Tried to fight back the anxiety and mostly won, though I could feel it creeping in at bedtime and took a quarter of a valium and slept right through the night rather than waking up in a panic.
I thought I had done a good job with looking for seed oils when I shopped, but found it in the Costco quiche, hummus, salad dressing, and pitas. I like quiche as it's filling, easy, freezes and reheats well. But I can't find a pre-made one or a pastry shell to make my own without seed oil or hydrogenated lard (I would take the lard, but the hydrogenated part is the bad part). I would consider making one myself, but this house has 4x4 tiles in the kitchen and the grout is nearly as old as me, so rolling out pastry on it seems really icky (I have a silicone mat in storage for this purpose, but don't use it enough to buy a second when I'll have it back in a few months). I might try a crustless quiche recipe in the meantime. I like the taste of quiche innards better than a frittata (must be the cream!).
Today I'm meeting with the alarm guy at the new house. The owners will be there. I hope the wife is not as cold as before!
I hope you all have a great day!
As I recall, they are now the "previous" owners aren't they? If the wife is just as cold it just reinforces that that is her usual mode.

Greetings all
Another day of running around doing not much. I spent bunch of time trying to figure out a dues discrepancy for the gallery. Each member pays monthly dues to be part of the gallery and one person thinks they have paid more than I am showing. This person is a nit picker (read:*****) so I gotta get it right. Oh well.
Tell us what you learn CC about non seed oils. Quiche is great. Hope all goes well on the house.
We started a new show series "The Lincoln Lawyer". Pretty good mystery show. Binge watching. No exploding aliens. Also another one called "Bad Sisters" about some sisters who hate one brother in law and plot to kill him. Its funny. Apple TV.
The fence is getting closer. We may have a "secret gate" that opens into the yard behind us. We have had to fish our dogs out of that yard more than once and its main gate is nailed shut and we cant get in there. This lady has been out of town several months. She is nice and said we can go in the yard but I think she is a person with a lot of problems - like substance abuse and hoarding.
Not much else. DH found out about his 50 year high school reunion in Omaha in October so we are going. Hopefully I can get a house sitter. That will be our first plane trip since covid. Yikes I am already stressing.
Pot pie tonight. Always a comfort food.

Secret gate? That sounds intriguing (for the dogs). Mike just had his 50th reunion so your DH and he must be the same age (mine is next year).

Another busy workshop day. I have certain goals I want to reach each day, and I almost mace it today. If it wasn't our anniversary, I would have stayed later than I did, but I knew DH was waiting for me.
He was waiting for me with flowers and a sweet note. We agreed our trip to NYC would be our anniversary gift, but he ordered me a bouquet none the less. Several of our favorite restaurants turned out to be closed on Monday. We went to an old stand by Italian restaurant we like. It's not "innventive" per se, but very solid and reliable. Left overs for lunch!
Tomorrow we have a date to return to Planet Fitness, after taking the summer off. Strengthening my resolve . (it's too easy to settle in and say, I'll do it tomorrow).
What a sweet DH! Happy Anniversary! Mike doesn't do flowers (he only brought some once when we were dating from a supermarket). In fact he hates doing gifts other than trips. He can act romantic but somehow is uncomfortable with some of the related aspects (like giving something tangible).
