Hmmmm, either I post the same thing 3 times or I lose the book I just wrote! The later was true today!

Lets see if I remember what I wrote. My grandmother and mother both were diagnosed with osteoporosis, which seems odd since all of us have a sturdy German build with large bone structure.

Peps, glad that Giat 3.0 is home and getting all geared up for travel.

CC, happy you were able to get some sleep, even if it took expired meds to getter done!

Liz, rest up! I get tired just reading about all you do in a week!

I have not tracked my eating for the last few weeks (weight remains the same). I started tracking again today and it has helped me make wiser choices! All the boys except DS #1 who is working will be over for dinner tonight. Grilled fish and veggies and cilantro and lime rice. Tomorrow we will have a send off dinner for DS #3 at his favorite Hibachi place. Move in day is Thursday. His college is only 1 1/2 hours a way, so not bad at all!

Have a superb Sunday!

Paula, are your children in the University of Wisconsin system? My son graduated from Stout, it was the perfect fit for him. We thought UW schools were a good value, DD went to Loyola in Chicago, and woo-wee, that was $$$ compared to Stout.

My mom was also German by birth and heritage, and though small in stature was well built. I get my muscle density from her, I believe. When she was diagnosed with osteoporosis it was explained to her that she was in the highest risk category of post menopausal women: fair haired, fair skinned, and blue eyed. Both of her sisters also have osteoporosis. Apparently that genetic triad puts you at the most risk for bone loss.

Good Morning All

Monday again here - the weekend went by in a blur of cooking and serving and Im exhausted as I expected I would be. I have had maybe 2 hours sleep as my hips ached so much, I couldnt get comfortable then my mind starts up and thats the end of any rest - Bahhhhhh

My Grandsons Birthday went well. And I did my parents proud by being totally well mannered and a gracious co-host as I offered DH ex wife food. She even came to over and talked to me at one point. Its safe to say we are not going to be friends but at least the bandaid has been ripped off and she has decided to adult enough - this is the best outcome for all of our children and grandchildren.

I have a busy day at work as we are running industry training over the next 2 days starting tommorrow. I need to get the workshop and factory areas cleaned up and the last of the preparation done as its an early start

I will try and pop back later to catch up on what I have missed - while on Nanna birthday duties

Have a nice evening all

S

Greetings all

Another sunny calm day here. I decided to take Poppy out on a walk. We had another escape episode last night. 30 minutes running around the neighborhood. We were tracking her with the JIO and much of the time she was in sight but we could not catch her. She chased a couple of cats and had a grand time and finally the neighbors cornered her. Scary because she was in the street some. So the fence fixer has more to do and it will be good when its done but meanwhile we have concrete blocks in various spots. So todays walk was to give her some adventure and to work on recall skills. I didn't get very far but its a start. I had to use a chain collar since she pulls on the leash and my hands are gimped. Aging sucks.

And speaking of aging, I fully expect to be told I have osteoporosis after the scan. Family history. And fair, blond, blue eyed. I must figure out some kind of exercise that is not painful. Yeah, back to the pool I guess.

CC that walk looks beautiful. You are going to have a zillion of them. And good on you for taking an old valium. Better living through chemistry. Nothing wrong with that. Soon you will be so happy in the new house that you will wonder why you worried.

Peps hope your relax day had been a good one. Can't wait to hear about the maiden voyage of Goat 3.

Yow DD such a storm! You were right to do the basement. And hey, is fosomax an icky drug? I heard you have to stay standing up for an hour.

Liz no wonder you are tired. Staying put is nice. Go for it.

Shirley glad your husband's ex decided to be a grown up. Sounds like it was a great party.

Pot pie on our agenda tonight from the health food deli. Ever wonder why a health food store has an entire aisle of junk food just like any other grocery store? Only it has cutsey names like Earth Mother potato chips.

Hey the seed oil stuff makes sense. I use only olive oil or butter as well. I keep trying to find an oil that is not trans fat but its confusing. I remember years ago a guy in our office using that icky powdered creamer because he had high cholesterol. I pointed out to him what horrible stuff that contains and steered him to the half and half I kept in the fridge. Why doesn't the health food store have an aisle that has no trans fat seed oil stuff? Right now its all about gluten free.

Oh well, time to fix dog dinners. No seed oils for them. Diane S

I was very hesitant about Fosomax, and its been no big deal. I take a tablet once a week. You have to remain upright for 30 minutes, but upright can be sitting, avoid bending over. Take with water, no other food or liquid for 30minutes. That's really the most (albeit small) annoyance: I take mine on Sunday, so I have to wait 30 minutes for my chai latte. I am not experiencing any other side effects.
