We are in transit from NH to Cape Cod. We had a great time at the lake and visiting with our friends. BTW, the husband is the friend who suffered a cardiac arrest last summer. He is enjoying each day as much as he possibly can which is wonderful to see. He and Mike really hit it off which was also nice.

We should arrive home at around noon, hopefully before the weekend crowds. Tonight we are going to a community dinner with friends, SIL and DD. But first we take Justice for a LONG walk (DS only takes him for short ones).

Have a fun Friday!

The end of week 2 as a music teacher and I'm still on cloud 9! I'm doing my warm body teacher sessions this morning, so I am able to get some odds and ends done - both school and personal.

GOAT 2.0 is empty (except for the crates) and ready to be transported to the dealership. Crates will come out after school. Insurance declarations for the new rig have been sent over to the dealership so the rig can be released. Only thing left to do is stop off at the bank and get a cashier's check for payment.

I noticed this week that I have made a jump in strength. I am adding between 10 to 20 pounds on most of my major muscle group back exercises and roughly 5 pounds on the isolated small muscle exercises. Chest exercises I haven't upped the weight (because I'm using the heaviest weights available), but have increased the number of reps and sets. I'm doing 4-5 sets of 12 to 15 reps for most chest moves.

Still hanging in the same 264-265 range. Yes, 70-80 more than ideal, but I'm still feeling okay with my weight on a personal level. I am enjoying my routine of a light breakfast, filling lunch and a varied dinner. Where I still need to do some adjusting is eating between 3 PM and Dinner. I still find myself wanting to graze - even after having a "snack". Maybe I need to actually have a late afternoon MEAL rather than a snack. Not sure. Will talk with the NUT this afternoon about that.

But here's the thing: If it weren't for the extra weight I'm carrying, I'm pretty comfortable in my skin and my current eating. I never feel deprived. I make choices. Sometimes my choice is to eat something less than healthy. Sometimes I choose not to eat whatever it may be. For me that is so much easier than having OFF LIMIT or "BAD" foods. This way of eating isn't promoting rapid weight loss, but a few pounds over time has rewards.

A Fruitful Friday to all!

Love this post Peps. Music Man is what you were mean't to be I think. Glad its going well. Ditto the new Goat. Ditto Ditto feeling stronger and comfortable in your skin. That is indeed what this is really all about. And I often eat a small meat at 4 pm. Usually tuna salad on crackers. Works well as we often don't eat dinner until 7 or so. Very British. Anyway good to read a post from a happy place. Diane S

Hi all! I slept last night thankfully. The house is supposed to close today. I was a little anxious this morning (new anxiety symptom I'm noticing is ears ringing. Fun!) so I took a walk early which helped a lot. This afternoon I decided a float in the pool would feel good, so I did that. Insurance for the new house and my car got set up this morning, then I called and cancelled my previous car insurance. Whew. I think that's all I want to do today. I may take a drive.

I had thought I wanted some kind of breakfast sweet this morning, but opted for a protein shake instead. Tiny steps...

Glad you were able to sleep better CC! Peps, really sounds like you are in a good place, yay for you!

Nice little potluck at work, full of unhealthy foods but I opted to make a taco salad instead of nachos so one good choice! Otherwise it was a normal busy day at work.

Ive been having a lot of body/joint aches. I noticed if I sit for a little bit after work (where I am standing/mi I got around mist of the day) I get very stiff and it takes several steps to work out the kinks. I read somewhere last week that those aches and pains could be another result of the declining levels of estrogen that menopause brings on. Oh joy!

No menopause here, but I have the exact same thing! It's at its worst when I have been driving for a few hours. It does take a good 5-10 steps to feel like I'm not moving like a feeble old man! LOL! So, Paula1965, take it from Peps1964, at our ages the soreness and stiffness is just part of what happens to us after being idle for a while. I find, too, that if I have had a more active day or a harder workout, my legs are even stiffer than usual! And they say exercise is good! Ha!
