We spent the day yesterday sequestered in the basement to keep Mike away from DS. We will continue the process until Mike tests negative. Mike started feeling way better through the day yesterday and says he feels pretty much like normal this morning. I will continue to test both of us to see when he goes negative and make sure I don't change to positive (though I am pretty sure I had it last week).

We are supposed to go to a lake in NH tomorrow for 3 days and stay in a cabin near friends. Since it is a VRBO place we won't have contact with anyone (and can stay away from our friends). He should be a solid 5 days since he started with symptoms as of tomorrow. I am really in a quandary as to what to do if Mike feels fine but still tests positive. Should we go but just have him stay away from everyone (or wear a mask if he has to be near anyone)? Or delay our departure? Any thoughts?

Today is laundry day and driving DS back and forth from a colonoscopy/endoscopy appointment. I am dreading the latter because DS is SO unpleasant after anesthesia. I suggested he ask the doctors for something to ease that but I am not sure he did.

Time to get some breakfast, then work on cleaning the laundry and myself. Have a mostly fine Monday!

If nobody else at the lake has vulnerabilities, I would still go ahead. I would speak with the friends and ask them if they wanted you and Mike to remain isolated, masked et****il he has a negative test. Unfortunately, if people are out in the world at all, they're probably crossing paths with infections frequently. At least that's my take. Obviously if someone has active symptoms and a positive test I'd lime tutorial keep their distance, but if its run it's course, but test is still positive, I'm less concerned.

Well, damn "our" little COVID outbreak! Boooooo...... Hope CC's dad and Mike are on the mend. CC, I will be interested to know if when your dad comes off the pavloxid, if he gets stronger "flu" symptoms. Some docs are saying taking the med only delays the true onset of the disease. ?????

I have been pretty wrapped up in my new school life and have stayed off the news for a week. Yesterday was not the day to visit the news world. Sad about Putin's right hand man's daughter.... The drought, the fires, the economy.... I was feeling more positive when I was removed for two weeks!

Well, GOAT v2.0 is out. It gets dropped off on Saturday. GOAT v3.0 gets picked up on Saturday. GOAT 3 is not at all what I was thinking I would get, but sometimes the PERFECT rig just comes along.... So, I cancelled the rig I had put a deposit on and signed paperwork on GOAT 3. It's swanky.... LOL.... oh, so perfect for me and the dogs.... and the best part is that it is shorter than even GOAT v1.0!!!!! However, the very, very, very best part is that I have a 3 year bumper to bumper, rooftop to tire warranty! This new, swanky rig is also costing me 3 thousand less than the new class C. I'll post some pics on TT....

The water weight from that first week of school seems to have been shed and I'm back down to where I'm a little more comfortable.

Happy Monday!

One of our friends stopped watching the news and stopped all social media, and she says she feels much more centered. She still gets news via the newspaper, but newspapers aren't written in a way intended to ramp you up. My Dad reads the paper and will only watch PBS News Hour to stay I formed. I can get swept up in the cable news hysteria, so I try to switch to other sources, even network news like CBS or NBC are much calmer. Social media on the other hand, I love it too much.

I'll keep you posted. He went from coughing a lot yesterday morning and feeling crummy to very little coughing by evening. I texted to check on him today and they couldn't chat because they were out on a boat. Must be feeling better! I thought the same thing about Paxlovid, but was reading something this morning that said it's doing more to keep people out of the hospital than the vaccines/boosters. Hmm. Who knows what to believe these days!

Greetings all

A sunny day here in la la land. It was actually hot down at the studio (hot here means not needing a hoodie) so people are out and about in the sun. And the naked ladies are in full bloom. These are the lilies that are intense pink and named such because the foliage is all died down with only the flowers on stalks remaining. I have a few in my front yard. The bulbs are huge. But these flowers kind of signal the end of summer.

Liz glad you have a basement to hide in but jeepers, no fun. Hope there is a good tv. Movie marathon in order. Hope negative test comes soon. Ditto CC for your dad. And Liz I agree with DD about seeing how others feel about Mike being around.

Goat 3 looks awesome Peps. You will have fun. If I ever get to another dog show I hope to see it. And you. And glad you are enjoying the new school job.

Good on you Peps for taking a break from the news. Its tough these days. Years ago I got an auto immune issue causing low blood platelets which I swear was stress caused by crazy pat. It went away when she died. Now its kind of back and it might be from the stress of the horror of all the news! Somehow I can't turn away - like watching a train run off a cliff.

BB was asking about keto diet. My nephew and his wife both lost a ton of weight on it. They are trying to have a child and needed weight off. No kid yet. We shall see. But it did seem to be a diet they could stay with for a long time. Dr. Cirangle always said a low carb diet works better than low fat. I believe it. Carbs are what kill me.

Miss Poppy dug under the gate last night - there was a cat! There ensued a 20 minute chase through the neighborhood with various people helping. There is no way to catch this critter unless she decides to come to you which she eventually did. DH got a load of concrete pavers to shore up the gate. And the fence fixer comes tomorrow again. One thing - the JIO track dog locater did work well - it told us what street she was on and how far away. So that helped a lot not running down the wrong street. Even so I think I trashed my ankle again from running around with no shoes. Might be time for the big boot again.

Grilled ham and cheese tonight. Or maybe shrimp. Must investigate. The deli at the hippy grocery did not have any thing that looked good. Various forms of tofu disguised as food. Nope.

CC we want to know more about your house. Looks like a dream.

Cheers all. Diane S

Darn, hate to hear you hurt your ankle! I hope temporary use of the boot sets it right again.

Sorry to hear about the Covid diagnoses for Mike and CC's Dad. Bummer.

I spent the weekend with one of my besties and then partially packed up my parents, Dad will be moving to memory care and Mom to a one bedroom assisted living apartment. Dad is getting increasingly more difficult to care for and deal with (refuses showers, refuses to change clothes, wants to wear the same Depends even though it looks like a 2 year olds diaper after playing in the pool).

I'll work at our church garden in the morning and then get a much needed haircut.

So sorry about the decline of your Dad. Sounds a lot like deceased DH in his last years.
