We are leaving Providence in about 1/2 hour to go home for 2 nights - what a novelty! Providence is actually a fairly interesting city. It felt a little like a mini-Boston. Last night we were bemoaning the fact that we have 2 houses and yet no room to stay in them. I hope at least my sheets have been washed.
Tonight we are supposed to go to the other part of the Cape for dinner only (birthday dinner for Mike's daughter). However, he felt a bit like he had a cold yesterday and more today so we are going to COVID test when we get back home.
Not much else to report. Time to pack and get ready to go. Have a super Sunday!

I am negative for COVID but Mike is positive. He is not happy :(

Oh no! This new variant just keeps showing up. Is this Mike's first time having Covid? I hope it is mild and uneventful.
I had a great day at the pool yesterday. I think it was the first/only time this year where I lounged/swam waterside all day. We did go to the beach when we were in Massachusetts, but the water was too cold to enjoy swimming. DH spent 6hours doing ship tours. We had a fabulous meal and went for a little walk to wrap up the day.
Today will be low key, it's hot, so we will sight see, but slowly, with breaks.
Ocean water on Cape Ann is definitely frigid!
Mike and I both had COVID in November 2020 before the vaccines and it was mild for both of us. We are fully boosted so this should be mild as well. I actually think I might have had it this week as I had a headache at the beginning of the week and I was more miserable and sweaty than usual when we hiked on Friday. I think I might have sweat it out. Mike had a headache starting Tuesday so he might be at the tail end of it. We will probably test daily. We think a friend of his who stayed at our house last weekend may have had it. He said he was negative but he sounded like he had a severe cold. One of Mike's daughters tested positive yesterday too (though her children are not positive).

Greetings all
Puppy party yesterday was great fun. We sat on the deck and played dog moms for four hours. Walter was here from San Francisco and also Sassy who lives nearby. Poppy was a bit overwhelmed at first but got into the spirit. Since I had all the overgrown stuff cleared from the back yard they could run fill tilt and play with toys. Walter's owner likes to dog groom so she did all the toenails. I showed her how to use a terrier stripping knife and we all got into that. She also showed how she trains dogs and had them all sitting and waiting. It was very fun. Old dog Chip hung around the whole time and while he didn't get into play much I think he enjoyed the dog company. Tesla had to be crated part of the time as she gets too rowdy. They all crashed about 4 o'clock and a great time was had by all. Karen has friends near here so she comes up a couple of times per year. Its good to see this crew.
Rats Liz, Mike has covid. Its rampant out here but people are not doing much. I still mask at stores and such but most people don't. Is mike going to take an anti viral or just wait it out? Hope he is not too uncomfortable.
And DD good on you for lizarding for a day. I would like a ship tour but not for 6 hours! Jeez. We did the Queen Mary a few years back but a couple of hours was enough. These days I would take pool over ship any day.
Next week will be busy. Two afternoons of gallery duty and a mammogram. My internist is not that insistent on regular mammograms but I sure as hell am. having lost friends to the disease. No thanks. I will take the tit in a ringer annually. And the following week is bone density. Since I have lost height I fear osteoporosis. Crap. Aging sucks.
Pepperoni pizza last night but I had to pick the pepperoni off. Too peppery for me. There is one more dinner of it tonight but I think I will do a ham sandwich. And I have to cook the zucchini that was given to me at scrabble so I can report back.
We watched the last two episodes of the new season of Stranger Things. Lordy it was too much for me. I swear the final episode was well over two hours. I kept thinking it was the final scene and then there would be more. CC I remember you liked the series and I did also the first season but this on was way too violent. So I must find a fun show before DH finds more exploding aliens. Our friend Karen from San Francisco does not even have a tv. No wonder she is trim and fit at age 65.
Not much else. I am plodding along on the new floor thing and will be back to the store tuesday with cupboard door. I m just going to have to pay someone to move stuff.
Not much else. Laundry to put away and junk to toss. story of my life.

Mike is barely sick - just a runny nose and some sneezing so no need for anything. And I really think he is at the tail-end of it as he started with a headache on Tuesday (I had one Monday). I think I had it but sweated it out Friday. If he started Tuesday then he is at day 5 already. We will probably test daily until it is gone.

Apparently it's a day for Covid! My dad has it. He called the teledocs at the hospital and they gave him Paxlovid. He started this morning and feels much better already. He said it feels like a cold, but his cough was driving Claudia nuts and they had guests coming in from CA tomorrow so she made him test. They canceled the guests...
