It is our 5 month wedding anniversary LOL! More company last night but at least all the sheets and towels got washed. The fellow who suffered a heart attack last summer came to stay last night without the wife (the one who made the last minute excuse). We really enjoyed his visit, especially DS who has always thought of him as a second father.

We are supposed to leave for Saratoga Springs in 1.5 hours and I haven't even packed. Yikes! Good thing I have my handy-dandy packing list ready. I better chug my coffee until I get enough caffeine in to get motivated and get moving.

Peps, I hope your first days back at school are going well!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

You're off on another adventure Liz! Enjoy. We're also on our way, Charleston, here we come. Our flight doesn't leave until 3:50pm, so it makes for a more relaxed travel day. I'm all packed, except for medications and a few necklaces.

Our principal sent the back to school memo and schedule for workshop week. How dare she!!! :) Still not thinking too deeply about school. One of the benefits of having a few years of experience, I can plan a first week pretty darn fast.

Enjoy all the day has to offer!

Anxiety dream I'm having trouble shaking this morning! I was at the top of a skyscraper, but it was open like a treehouse and had no elevator, only handmade rope ladders and catwalks running down the outsides. I was paralyzed with fear hating both heights and ladders, let alone handmade ones (and at the same time having very rule-following Ceci thoughts about why a building was allowed to be non-ADA compliant). Awful. I woke hyperventilating and have the residual feelings.

Today is administrative stuff - gathering things for the mortgage, calling one of my investment companies to change a linked bank account, and calling for another home insurance quote. Plus cleaning up the house and doing some laundry.

Food is still very carb heavy. I'm starting today with a protein shake. I need to do something!

Liz, glad your party went well. Peps, let's hear about the potenials for GOAT 3.0! Shirl, I love hearing about the farm and all your hard work there. It's beautiful. DianeS, any more fence escape attempts? DD, enjoy Charleston! You've really explored this summer! DianeO, sending my best. MissBonnie, your explorations with Swann sound like so much fun right out your backdoor! And your property taxes, good heavens. There's a reason to not move!

Posted a link with floor plan, pics, etc... on TT. My dream was a Sprinter type, but they are just too small for what I do.... This is a great compromise.

CC- what is it with these carbs? Seems I will walk clean around a perfectly tasty bit of protein just to snag up the carbs in back of it! Doing better with the hydration, though.

Tomorrow is annual no charge Medicare Wellness check up. Dr covered everything important last visit just a week or so ago. I'm showing up for this one because the Clinic I use is private, so the government treats it differently re % of reimbursement for services. If a certain % schedule and show up for the AMCU the clinic is reimbursed at a higher level. I really like my physician so I try to help.

Hoping the rain drops south enough to dampen our area. We've noticed several fields of standing corn that may well cost more to harvest than what the crop would be in, so will most likely just be tilled back under; other fields have baled the corn all together- corn, cob, leaves, stalks into huge round bales of cornstraw. This will be used as fodder in winter.

(Some hours later....). Oooopsie, guess I never finished and posted. I'm on my 2nd day of rearranging living room. DH really likes to watch tv there and in "comfy" chairs; problem is this front room is so not configured for today's furniture let alone a (blasted) tv. Frustrating, and everything will most likely to go back where it originally was.

I'm interested in farming and what farmers go through and follow a few young farmers on YouTube that make "day in the life" videos. I've learned so much and can better appreciate how things make it to my kitchen! The ones in Minnesota had such a wet, cold spring they got corn in extremely late and on some fields not at all. Weather (too wet or too dry or big storms at the wrong time), astronomical fertilizer and chemical costs and diesel costs. Food will not be getting cheaper anytime soon.

Hey friends! Sorry I'm so inconsistent with my postings, life just gets too busy sometimes!

Weekend visit with Kevin's daughter and her boyfriend went well. DS #2 and his boyfriend came over for dinner Sunday night. We often have all the kids over for Sunday dinner which is nice.

Worked the last 2 days and will work again on Friday. I'm more then ready for retirement. We just need to figure out health insurance to bridge us to Medicare. Not an easy feat!

Looks like we will be moving my Dad to memory care in the next few weeks. Mom will stay in assisted living but go to a one bedroom.

Looks like the marriage celebration went well Liz! Still need to catch up on here a bit more!

I hear you on the insurance, it will keep me working past 62. Also, there is a significant difference in my pension if I hang on a few more years... But it's doable since I get a good chunk of time each year to play, and now DH will be able to play too since he semi retired. :)
