Sorry I missed yesterday: busy, busy packing up at Mike's, driving to my house, sweeping the outside porches, and setting up the beds in the finished basement for company. Then DD from NJ arrived and we all went out to dinner.

DD, I hope taking care of the little one was pleasant and good for you with the Karaoke! I have only done it once as part of a group. CC, it is excellent that you have a strong advisor. Invaluable! And Diane S, sounds like you are making some junk clean out progress at the studio too.

The baby I thought was happening via C-section on Thursday night is coming via induction and it isn't going fast. They are 2 weeks before the due date but because the Mom's blood pressure has been rising the doctor wanted to induce labor. So it has been about 1.5 days now. The grandmother was also induced for one child and it took 3 attempts before it worked.

Today involves straightening the common areas, shopping for food for a cookout tonight, and executing the cookout. There will be approximately 18 of us, with family from both sides and some out-of-town friends. Hopefully that will come off smoothly. Tomorrow is the party for which I think everything is arranged, so it should go well? I have to remember to pick up the flowers today, the cake is being picked up by Mike's daughter tomorrow and we are going to the facility 1/2 hour ahead of time to set up the centerpieces.

That's "all" that is going on. No new COVID dropouts for the party yet at least and we have one add-on (NJ DD is bringing a friend) so we are just 1 under the paid count. I hate to overpay!

Have a super Saturday!

Greetings all

Just sitting here waiting for my hair to dry after having used our newly tricked out geezer shower. Guess I could use a hair dryer but I would rather sit here and play on the computer.

After this I am going over to the pet store to buy an additional dog crate. I need one that goes in the electric car which is not especially dog crate friendly. Our only vari kennel is too small for a border terrier so I need a 200. Yeah I could order on line but if I go to this store they will let me take it and try it in the car and I can park very close. A nice thing about a small town. This store also does a lot of dog rescue and they accept donations of old towels and sheets so I take my old raggedy towels there. Win Win.

Liz I sure hope the induced baby comes right along. For his/her sake as well as mom.

Tomorrow we go to a friend who has our puppy Batgirl. We will take Poppy for a play date. Tesla stays home as she is still in the jump suit. Our friend has a fairly large property and has fenced in a meadow area for dogs to run in. That will be fun. And we will further test and mess with the Jio dog location collar and see how it works in an area larger than our back yard. It does seem to work though it will say she is 20 feet away when it is more like 50.

Bonnie 150 are you painting? We want to see.

Not much else new here. We had leftover Chinese food last night and I expect to fix a steak tonight.

We watched the season finale of "For All Mankind" last night. The show about the space race with twists on history. Very good show.

Best wishes for your party Liz. Have a great time.

Cheers Diane S

We spent a good part of the day helping our chosen niece move to a new apartment. Good exercise carrying things up and down the stairs.

My cousin's baby had a good day. I was resolved my cousin would get to sleep for a little while, so after she nursed the baby, I held her and walked for 2 hours until it was time to eat again. I sat to rest every so often, but when she started to peep, I was back on my feet, and that soothed her. Poor little one, she has reflux and I could tell it would rouse her. No wonder she wakes up crying. DD had the same. There's not much to be done but let them get bigger, and the valve that holds everything gets stronger. Also, getting big enough for solids also helps. Things should look a lot different in another month or so.

Liz, it sounds like a wonderful weekend full of loved ones and celebration. Enjoy it all! Looking forward to pictures.

Diane, I had to chuckle about your not wanting to blow dry your hair. Don't like to either, I like to plan my shampooing around whether or not I have time to just let it air dry. :)

I need to get more regimented about food again, if for no other reason to keep my protein at a goid level (it's not right now). Hard to get motivated when I'm leaving on vacation again Tuesday. I am trying to make some decent choices, but I'm not tracking. If I don't track, I tend to drift from the protein. Ah the siren call of carbs, even if its good carbs like beans, leaves me without enough protein.

I'm excited for your party, Liz! Hope you have a wonderful time.

Not much to report today. I took a little drive. I enjoy exploring the area. And it's extra pretty this time of year with all the green. Who knew in the desert?

DD, I too need to work on my food intake and shifting more to protein...
