Liz, I'm hoping there is good news about your friend and the baby. Very frightening emergency.
Rainy night here after a beautiful day yesterday. Still overcast right now. I'm going to help take care of our family's colicky little one, and hopefully give my cousin a break.
Yesterday we met some co workers in a neighborhood bar in St. Paul for karoke. I've never done it in public, I was okay, but could have been better. But I fulfilled the directive I've made for myself: say yes to new things.
I'm hoping that having DH home every evening and weekend will leave me less overwhelmed and tired once school starts again. Like yesterday, when we went grocery shopping, it was so much easier. He did the self check out while I bagged, and he was there to help carry in all the bags, and put the food away. I'm looking forward to more of that.
Well, off to see my cantankerous cutie!
Greetings all
Karaoke DD! How brave of you. And good on you for trying something new.
And yeah having an assistant at the grocery store is a good thing. When DH used to go with me, he would steadily plod along with the grocery cart following me while I would flit around and grab stuff. Of course, that was in the old days when we bought cart loads of stuff. Now I like the stores with the small Trader Joe's style carts.
Not much new here. Stopped by the studio and started some new items. I actually cleaned out a bit of my studio - mainly just tossing some trash - but its getting so one can hardly turn around in there.
Shirley saw your lamb picture on TT. So adorable. I did not realize you had any sheep but why not if you have a farm?
CC drive to Flagstaff sounds fun. Isn't that where the Grand Canyon is?
HUGE helicopters are flying around and were doing so last night. They are fire fighting and I guess getting water out of the ocean. The lightning fire has spread and is pretty bad. Ordinarily the helicopters here are the little coast guard ones with their distinctive sound but these are louder and flying low. I so wi**** would rain inland. I have friends who live near the fire area. They have been smoked out several times in recent years. They want to sell their property but likely no one will buy it due to fire danger. Sad. The fairgrounds in Eureka have been set up as a fire staging area and ditto a small rural airport.
Time to start the ritual of dog dinner preparation. The old dog has been sending his signals.
Liz hoping for the best with the baby.

Where did the day go?? I had a really good call with my friend who is a financial advisor and a mortgage banker with the company. There are so many options I didn't know about that they presented. I started the loan process after. I think it will be good to use him more. My dad has always given great advice, but much as I pray for it, he won't be with me forever. Good to have an established working relationship with another person who knows their stuff.
Otherwise, fiddled the day away!
