I was so excited to see that CC's offer was accepted. We will need some pictures (on TT) after hearing the description of this perfect place!
I got a lot done yesterday but am moving slowly this morning. I need to get motivated and start doing some cleanup downstairs where we will have a guest staying next weekend. After that I will head to Mike's place where we will stay until Friday. I completed most of what I wanted accomplished this weekend except I never made it to the florist to order a corsage/boutonniere. I have to come back to the area on Wednesday for a dental appointment so I will have to do it then.
Time to get my act in gear. Have a super Sunday!

Congratulations CC! A meant to be moment, as all the parts fell into place so well. When do you close?
Liz, good luck with the last finishing touches for your party next week. Everything must feel very under control if you will be away most of the week.
We had a nice, albeit rainy family party. My Mom is one of four, and all her siblings are still living. It's a privilege to walk in a room and see all my uncles still kicking it. My Mom married very young, had me at 19. Her brothers had children in their 40s, so my cousins on this side of the family are quite a bit younger. My "baby cousin" who is 25 years younger, just had her first baby. Little sweetie had colic, and cries so much. We're trying to set up times to help her a bit so she can at least eat, take a shower, maybe a nap. I'm taking next Monday. My oldest had colic too, so I'm not frustrated by a crying baby that's hard to sooth. Hope our little baby grows out of this soon, both for her sake and her parents sake.
Today is just putting around the house, some more yard work etc. Eating still seems good, weight is steady. Higher than I want, but I'm not gaining so that's a big relief!
Colicky babies are so tough for tired new parents to manage. So nice that your family will pitch in. I hope the little darling gets over it soon!
I guess the party is more or less under control. Since it is at a restaurant and all the food/drinks are taken care of I just had to worry about table centerpieces (put together this weekend - see below), flowers for us to wear, and getting the house in shape for company staying. We plan to go back early Friday to do last minute straightening and cleanup. The only really outstanding thing is planning a cookout on Saturday night for out-of-towners and for our children to meet. DS is somewhat complicating that, but I think we more or less have a solid guest list and will probably just do burgers, dogs and salads.

Greetings all
Whoo Hoo CC a new house! You are gonna have so much fun with it. And glad you got in to the Woo Woo of Sedona with the pedicure. Very fun. We want pictures.
So we did the raku firing yesterday. It was fun. raku involves firing a gas kiln to 1860 degrees and then opening it and pulling out red hot pieces with tongs and putting them into combustibles in a trash can. Potentially dangerous but very fun and theatrical. I had good people who followed directions and it worked out well. Decent results. Plus there are a couple of people who I think are trustworthy enough to take over the events safely. I did the kiln loading and supervising but made these folks pull the hot stuff. One lady chickened out but others pulled her stuff. Today I will go check to make sure all the mess got cleaned up. Ashes have to cool overnight before they go into the dumpster.
Ocean Diane thats a fabulous picture on TT. You are rocking your new life. Hope all goes well in the next weeks and that the kayak gets a serious work out. Can Sadie ride in the kayak or is that a stretch.
Jus****ched news show about teacher shortages. Geez administrators - get a clue- you gotta get out of the way of teachers! Quit coming up with busy work.
Tesla is still recovering from her spaying. She took the last of her pain killers today. She seems subdued still but I think its because she hates wearing the little jump suit. She is much more animated when we take it off.
We watched "Belfast" last night. A good movie. The little boy in the lead is so engaging and adorable and the overall story is an interesting one.. Makes you think about what you would do if you were raising a family in a time of serious civil unrest.
Leftover mexican food last night. DH is off one one of his shopping trips and hope he brings home a pot pie
Thats it here, Cheers, Diane S
Did you need the captions to watch Belfast? We tried to watch it but didn't have them turned on and we just couldn't understand half of it.

Loved, loved Belfast! It stays with me even after viewing it a year ago. It brings another element to the story of immigrants: people want to stay but war, civil unrest, governments, disasters force them from home. Their lives in Belfast had a richness in relationships and community, and their roots were deep, but, in the end, they left for their children's safety and future. And the graceful way the grandparents helped them to leave, really poignant. I think a lot about what this movie says about love, community, tolerance, sacrifice and the meaning of home ...
