Welcome to the second half of summer! It definitely goes by fast. We will leave for Florida in about 6.5 weeks. It will actually be a relief to stay put there for a few months (other than a trip home for Christmas). Due to our August plans and Mike's daughters staying here for some time in August we only have about 2 weeks left at his home in total, though they are broken up a lot. I had to do a calendar to keep track and figure out when to move stuff from one house to the other.

The roofing continues. It has taken longer than planned due to the extreme pitch in the front so they have to keep moving the scaffolding. And wouldn't you know it but it rained for a bit this morning so they had to scramble up and cover the unfinished part with tarps. There is only a few hours left and it is supposed to be dry during most of the mid-day, but geez... I will see it either later today if I choose to go get my medications this afternoon or late afternoon tomorrow. Hopefully all finishes up without issues.

We need to do some food shopping today and take a long Justice walk. He had a great time walking on the sandbars yesterday during low tide. He previously avoided walking through the low water to get to them but yesterday he seemed to suddenly understand that they were really just puddles and had a joyous romp on the sand.

Have a marvelous Monday!

Had to smile thinking of Justice enjoying the sandbar. Pets bring us so much. We miss ours.

Lake George area is beautiful and thankfully not as hot as Boston. Onto Lake Placid where I just learned via email we got an upgrade to lake view :)

We will be following your footsteps a bit and are staying at Lake George in a couple of weeks - I have never been there.

Well, DMV (or ADOT here) visit done and I have paid for a drivers license and reregistered my car. Car registration is REALLY expensive here! But I suppose money has to come from somewhere for roads etc. I'm still better off than with CA taxes.

But here's the funny(?) part, At least I'm trying to laugh about it. They give you a printout of your license that will come in the mail. You guys, my face doesn't even fit in the frame it's so close! Like I barely have hair showing and my neck is cut off. And the camera was about a foot below my head so it's taken up my nose!! I look like Jabba the Hutt. Truly mortifying.

Now I'm waiting for a call from the real estate agent. I think our wires are crossed.

My Dad is at Mayo to get checked out. Just waiting for a report.

I think that's all I have. Take care all!

Signed,

Jabba

Greetings all

The girl dogs got out again last night! Another chase around the neighborhood for about an hour. Finally located in the yard of the house behind us. Its not easy because they have been gone for an extended time, their gate is high and locked and their yard is super overgrown plus their fence is open to the greenbelt beyond. We have to take a couple of boards out to get through the fence. Its rididiculous. So the dogs just found some more rotten boards and dug under them. So much for the stupid dig defence. We are hiring our neighbor to do more repairs as she did some years ago . What a circus. DH has decided the dig defence is too hard to pound in due to rocks. I am going to give some to our other neighbor as they have dogs and he is a strong young guy who can pound them in. Jeez.

So Justice enjoy your tide pools. These dogs here are in jail for now.

Studio visit and gallery visit today plus the bank. Gallery is having a great summer so there is a lot of cash to handle. We have a new safe but it was left open......

CC glad you got the DMV thing done. Its amazing how bad the pictures they take can be. Last one I did was so bad the DMV worker decided to take it again. Sorry your dad has another medical visit. Sending good energy there.

Tesla is scheduled to be spayed wednesday and barfed in our bed last night. This is after the tour around the neighborhood. So more laundry today.

Peps down to 3 puppies! The FB pictures are adorable.

Final round of the worlds saltiest burritos tonight. Then more planning.

Cheers all. Diane S

Poor jailed doggies (and poor exhausted owners!). There must be some company that specializes in making enclosures dog escape proof? If not, there should be!

Best dig fence is a two foot deep trench along your fence line that is filled with concrete! That is a primo deterrent!

Yep believe me I have thought of concrete. It may come to that. But we are hiring our neighbor to fix the two crappy sides. She fixed the side between our two houses a few years ago and it has been great. Treated board along the bottom plus wire mesh, All for dogs! My friend who has Bat girl just had a big area of her meadow fenced costing who knows how much. All for Batgirl. What better reason. Hug those pups. DS
