At this time tomorrow (if there are no delays), we will be in flight on our way home.
Yesterday afternoon I replaced the old thermostat with a new Nest one. I had one little glitch when it seemed to be heating vs. cooling at first but I fixed that. Now I have to get used to the Google Home app to control it. It is NOT user friendly/intuitive. My older Nest thermostat on Cape Cod is controlled with the Nest app which is so much easier to figure out!
In about an hour I leave for my lawyer visit to sign my other new legal documents. It will be good to get that done. We will spend the afternoon at the beach club as we did yesterday. We stayed under the umbrella and with a good breeze it was actually a delightful afternoon! I was never able to stay on a beach when I was in Miami during the summer of 2004, so this was an unexpected surprise.
Tonight we are going to our favorite restaurant early as we have to leave for the airport at 4:30 am tomorrow. Yuck, but it will be good to be back with Justice. We have missed him so much when we are at the house!
Have a fantastic Friday!

Greetings all
I am here early today since I tend to get busy with stuff later on and forget to post. Yesterday was good. The fence repair guy came and fixed about 30 rotten fence boards. Looks like a good job. DH was available to supervise and he enjoys watching other people do work. Plus this is the guy who speaks little English and DH enjoys practicing spanish. Bueno. So far the dogs have not escaped but we will still install the dig defence when it arrives. DH wants to hire neighbor to help with that. fine by me.
I got new pants from Lands End. These are supposed to have pockets. the last ones do not except for the tiny key pocket. Not acceptable.
Yesterday was the dentist for a cleaning. I swear that sonic cleaning gadget sends sound waves directly into your brain. Not pleasant even though I don't fault the hygienist. And I was given lessons on new ways to brush teeth. Thanks.
Ham and eggs for dinner last night. Quite satisfying. DH goes out to lunch today with his old guy friends so he will likely bring home most of a patty melt. Score for tonight.
So I scheduled this raku firing at the studio for next friday and saturday. Already there are too many people and I am stressing. I must just stop worrying and get other people to help. Must emulate Alfred E. Newman "what me worry?"
Peps sorry the music program is not as you had hoped. The density of school administrators astonishes me. As an art form music needs a bit of flexibility. Glad the union is pushing back but seems silly that it has to come to this. Management needs to get out of the way!
Liz enjoy the beach day. Hope you have a good book.
CC continue reporting adventures! Can't wait to hear what else you find (other than snakes and spiders).
DD happy belated birthday! That library tea place looked great. Congrats on the redecorating progress. And glad you nixed the wine bottles. Dust catchers.
Its overcast today but got pretty warm yesterday. I will spend some time at the studio today trying to play with clay and not stress about firing. Cheers all. diane s
Good that the dogs are contained now. Chasing dogs is not fun.
The beach weather here while under an umbrella is really pleasant. I ALWAYS have a book - I can't survive without one!

My real estate agent invited me to her house for a "girls night" with three former clients who have become her friends. It was outside my comfort zone, but I said yes and had fun! One of the ladies was my exact height (I said 5'11 and 3/4? and she laughingly yelled yes!! I replied, why won't they put that on a driver's license?) and then we discovered we share Dec 27 as a birthday and are both transplants from CA. The only bummer was when they all proclaimed how glad they were to have another "blue" voter to change AZ and I explained I was not. It was momentarily uncomfortable, but I said I try to be respectful of other's beliefs and hoped we all could. And if we all listened more and compromised more instead of retreating further to our respective ends of the spectrum, the country would be a better place. We all seemed to be able to agree on that and the subject changed.
Today I decided to go check out Prescott. I decided to take 89A there that goes the back way. What a fantastic (and somewhat harrowing drive)! It goes through Jerome, which is an old copper mining town clinging to the side of a mountain and the road is STEEP and WINDING with a 20mph speed limit. Quirky little old town that caters to tourists. I wonder if buildings just ever fall off the side? It honestly predates building codes by 100 years. Then the road climbs up Mingus Mountain to over 7000 feet, again steep, winding and harrowing. But so gorgeous. Giant pine trees everywhere and it was dark and threatening to storm, so very atmospheric. Then you drop down into Prescott Valley for a bit, then go up the mountain on the other side of the valley into Prescott, which is at 5400 ft (Sedona is 4000). I liked the approach into town better this direction, which made me like the town better. The square is awfully neat. And it was thunderstormy and cool there today, which also I think influenced my positive assessment this time.
Anyway, just sitting here waiting for thunderstorms to start here again. I can see them and hear them. We got an inch and a half of rain yesterday.
I saw my first javalina (feral pig) that was dead on the road and my first elk, also deceased on the road. So many animals here!
I am pretty darn blue, and I absolutely feel you are respectful of others opinions. I grew up in a small, conservative community and I know many wonderful, caring people who don't vote the same as me. We might disagree about economic theories about how to stimulate the economy for example, but we don't disagree about living honest lives and helping others. There can be room for all of us.
Great that you met some we people! I became freeing my realty on Cape Cod after looking at homes with her for 18 months I also agree that mutual respect is critical - not everyone has to have the same opinions.
