Sounds like fantastic space improvements!

Sounds like the apartment is shaping up! I hope you enjoyed the North End - it is one of our favorite places to dine. And then there are the cannolis at Mike's Pastry...

Summer projects are exhausting! Sound like everyone is doing a little something whether it's schlepping furniture and redecorating, moving, dealing with legalities, or working spiritually!

I forgot to get coffee yesterday so I had to wake up with DECAF TEA! Criminal! I am now sipping a nice dark roast.

Sadly, my new job is not at all what I had hoped for. Nor is it what either of the two other teachers had hoped for, nor is it what the sole credentialed music teachers was hoping for. So, after our meeting yesterday it was decided we would push back and see if we can make the changes needed to make this new program a success. The problem with Educational Administration is that, as in the case of our program coordinator, classroom experience is often minimal and the understanding of arts education is abysmal. The person I am dealing with thinks that music is akin to PE and has tried to set up our schedule in the same way a traveling PE cohort of teachers work in our district. It's pretty comical, actually. Well, at this time, I've committed to the year and will do it, but whoa.... not at all what I had envisioned. Boooooo!

Weight is doing well. While it's not a lot, I have lost about 6 pounds this summer without dieting a single day. I'm pretty happy with that actually. Funny how over time and with a lot of therapy my benchmarks for contentment have changed. Yesterday I got to "practice" school eating.

By this time next week I will have only 3 puppies left. I'm happy about that. A young couple who is getting Mr. Purple came to visit yesterday. It brings me such joy to see the excitement and love new puppy "parents" have for their new little one. Some of the people just ooze love for the puppy. It's a great experience.

Not much else from me.... Lots of chores to get done before the 8th when I report back to school to begin the year.... Still can't believe that school starts for kids on August 10th. Nor can I get used to this summertime start! Weird, weird, weird.....

Your summer weight loss is awesome! I'm sorry your position is not as you were informed it would be. I hope your cohort pushing back brings the necessary changes.

Just got a message that the union is going to push back, too. They don't like the way the new program excludes Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten teachers for an extra prep. They also don't approve out of contract the time constraints the new schedule requires. Though we are only 3 teachers, it is nice to see that the union reps are not going to allow the district to force us to be out of compliance with the contract.

Kudos to your Union! Every teacher deserves to be treated in accordance with the contract that was negotiated and agreed to by all parties.

I hope the administrators pay attention to the more experienced educators (and good for the union backing you up).

Congrats on 6 pounds! That is a wonderful accomplishment to do that without "dieting"!
