It is still warm here, but WAY less humid. Yesterday it was super muggy and windy so the beach was tough with the wind and walking was tough with the humidity.

Food wasn't too bad last night - we had leftovers. I find myself only eating what I want and throwing out the rest without thinking much about it these days. I used to be in the clean plate club and would eat even if I was past enjoying it. I guess that is part of the reason my weight is more stable these days and the value of a smaller stomach.

Today we will walk, do errands, then pack. We leave for our travels at 3 and won't be at our Florida place until midnight at the earliest. I hope there are no delays which of course is a big risk since we are leaving late in the day and flying into Orlando.

I do have some angst about the appointments with the lawyers. They had 3 months to make minor adjustments to a pre-formatted post-nup agreement but we didn't receive a final copy until yesterday after requesting one several times over the last 2 weeks. There were some minor changes missing and one paragraph modified in a manner which I think is different from what my lawyer suggested. So we had to make the minor changes and I sent it in panic to my lawyer to review today. I really don't get why we have to be in last-minute, panic-mode after having so much lead time? And we are only in Florida for 3 days specifically to get this done. I am also supposed to have a will and durable POA to review and sign by Friday and have yet to receive those too. Argh....

Frustrations aired... time to take a walk. Have a thoughtful Tuesday!

Liz, I hope the trip goes off smoothly. So many issues with flight delays lately, hopefully not for you.

Letting puppies go and keeping puppies in, and meeting unexpected wildlife on walks. Loving on grandkids and welcoming news of the first. Its been a busy tribe.

We made it to Jamaica Plains Sunday evening. Carrying so much stuff up the truly awful stairs. They're the old style ones with the curves, if you can imagine steps that are pie shaped.

Yesterday DH and I started operation redecorate. Part of it was collecting supplies and moving things around. In the evening we went to a Red Socks game. Still super hot and humid, but it did finally rain a little. There was a rain delay for the game, which turned out to be the most entertaining part of the whole evening, watching people dance on the jumbo tron. I'm not a sports fan, but normally can enjoy a baseball game on a nice night. This one was a little much with the heat, and the less expensive seats are super uncomfortable. The T did a good job moving all of us out of the Fenway area after the game, that part was slick, and nothing caught fire! Earlier this week a train the orange line caught fire (for real) on a bridge. People said they thought they were going to die. One woman jumped off the bridge, into the river and swam away. She was last seen walking home. Orange line is of course the line to my daughters apartment.

Time for me to get started on some projects! A little nervous as I start out, because I'm using a borrowed sewing machine. I'm not sewing anything complicated, so it should go okay.

What are you sewing? I remember doing that stuff for my eldest DD (younger DD wasn't too interested). Pie shaped curving stairs? LOTS of those in old Massachusetts and all my kids spend time in a variety of similar buildings.

Monsoon season continues! Gentle rain right now and thunder. I had one conference call for the board at noon and another at 3. I'm making a recipe tonight, so I prepped all the parts to make it easier and so I'm not eating at 8. https://www.gimmesomeoven.com/roasted-broccoli-farro-bowls/ I'm not doing the tahini dressing as it seems like fiddly ingredients that might not all get used up, so my garlic expressions should be good enough. And I made pickled onions as they are less sharp and sweeter than raw ones. Oh, and I don't like garbanzo beans so I'm using great northern. So really, the recipe is merely a suggestion!

Hoping for good mail delivery today...

Greetings all

Its a warm day here by our standards. I attended a zoom meeting for studio board. How can 6 people with a written agenda get so far afield on any given topic? Its kind of like some kind of free association. Then when we are finished someone comes up with a very upsetting topic out of the blue and messes us up. Go figure. At least we are on sound financial footing.

Liz I don't blame you for being annoyed with those lawyers. But law offices are in non stop crisis last minute mode all the time! Thats why I don't do it anymore. Too old.

So we have set up the raku firing at the studio that I am going to supervise. Hope these people pay attention and do as instructed as its otherwise dangerous. Too old for this too.

Well I took 5 new pieces to the gallery yesterday and they all sold today. Time to raise prices.

CC that recipe looks great. Very new age food. Very Sedona. Enjoy. We are having steak and tomatos tonight. And the dogs get ground chicken.

And the two young dogs are now spending all their time in the yard trying to dig out. We have some concrete blocks that we keep using to block their excavations. Now that they figured out the way, thats all they want to do. Driving us nuts. Two days until Dig Defence arrives.

Hope you get home safe Liz.

DD pie shaped stairs? I remember those from Europe - one place where you had to duck low to not hit your head. Be careful on those. Pies were not made for climbing.

Lordy I just realized its the end of July and I have done nothing about getting new flooring.(other than dejunking). If I want to get it done it must be in the summer since winter is rainy here and we might have to put furniture on the deck. Must get organized (tomorrow).

Cheers. Diane S

We did sort everything out with the lawyers -- we now have documents ready to sign. I try to give lawyers a lot of lead time and not to bug them (deceased DH had some irritating clients). It was just this last minute panic that got to me. I was revising wording and running it by my attorney at 11 this morning. But both attorneys reviewed it and we are all set.
